Very high dynamic range potential ! ( apartment dwellers beware ), natural sounding while never becoming harsh and sibilant. Beautiful looking aesthetically with grilles removed ! Decent quality binding posts, biwire or biamp capability, good power handling. Internally wired with monster cable !

Can be dependant on location -- nature of bass reflex port exiting on rear of cabinet. Could use an updated grille look. Grilles are cheesy plastic jobs that are wrapped in a nice looking grille cloth. Extended low bass responce < 30 hz could be better, but can be augmented by the use of a good quality subwoofer. The only other qualm is that I wish the cabinets were finished in a real wood veneer.(minor considering the price point)

When I first heard these speakers, the lifelike imaging and natual sound of female voices definately blew me away ! I had to have them ! When auditioning these puppies, I used Alanis Morrisette (Jagged little pill) Track 13, 5.10 minutes in The solo vocal perfomance was frighteningly dynamic as if you were in the auditorium with your eyes closed roughly 8 rows back in the exact center of the room. Another such cd used was Sara Mclaughlan (Mirror ball). You can actually here the performers taking a breath between passages ! Piano was never harsh , just natural sounding. Women''s voices never exhibited any sibilance and horn instruments sound natual. The new out of the box loudspeakers sounded extremely bright and lacked lower mid-bass. After burning them in with pink noise at 105 db for 12 hours, the surrounds loosened up on the woofers. The resulting sound was the very same as the sound room. They sounded to me the best with a very slight toe in and spaced roughly 10 feet apart and roughtly 3 feet from the wall. These speakers may be for you if : You desire concert quality sound You like good imaging and depth of sound Your neighbours are easy going ! You don''t have $ 10,000 to blow on way overpriced speakers/amps Overall , these speakers represent an excellent value for the money. Another note , while testing with some cd''s at home, the 70wpc from the marantz reciever easily pushed the spl''s to 115 db plus ! With this in mind, people with apartments have to be careful not to annoy other tenants, as this can result in an eviction notice appearing on your door.
