Since I bought the Sony SACD player I have found that the Focus speakers can produce even great prodigious, clear, bass with clarity and a sense of hall reality. That, I think, is the true test. What you hear is a gorgeous hall sound, close to Boston's Symphony Hall. Just remember that no electronic can duplicate a real life hall situation. We have not yet come to the time when you can specify Row m center aisle seat 33 in Carnegie Hall, Boston, or Vienna.Or do you prefer the balcony???

When I compare their sound to what I hear from Wilsons and B+Ws and their ferocious pricing I have to conclude that there are no real weaknesses here.

These speakers are an unimaginable bargain for their beauty of tone, cohesion, and depth.

I can't afford them!

After reading rave Legacy Audio Reviews for years, I finally travelled 150 miles to audition them... I deeply regret not bringing my own familiar material to audition but everything I've heard (from female vocals, piano passes, organ material, rock, blues, classical, etc.) was so life like it was UNBELIEVABLE!!!
These aesthetically beautiful speakers sounded even better than they looked. The soundstage was absolutely HUGE, the vocals were breathing life and the instruments sounded etherial. Everything sounded free and unrestrained even if it was REALLY loud. The bass was gut wrenching and authoritative and at the same time didn't beg for attention to itself. Every frequency component of the audible spectrum was spectacularly clear, precise, concise and just plain wonderfully musical!

These are tbe only speakers I'll ever consider buying when I able to afford them...
