I do not own these but am very fond of them. They have excellent tonal quality and a truely lifelike soundstage. |

Looks nice
Weakness:
Sounds terrible! Highs, lows, mids... soundstage, imaging, vocals, instruments... All-around bad! I'll start off by saying that I never thought a high-end piece of equipment could be so unfair to music. Sure, the Aerius look nice in an intriguing way, but they fail miserably as soon as you turn them on. I am not exaggerating when I say they sound terrible. It's as if the sound came out of a can, but worse, since the Aerius cannot even reproduce metallic sound you would hear if you knocked on metal. The bass is poorly distributed, the mids are not fluid, and the overall music presentation lacks smoothness. Highs are missing the tingle of a tweeter, mids have exaggerated echo, and lows extend bass too much. Compared to anything I have heard, these sound miserable. For the price, it's an aberration. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the Aerius. The PSB Stratus Gold i's will give you the most for the least. Similar Products Used: PSB Stratus Goldi, PSB Stratus Silver |

Image!!! When you listen to Aerious you do not listen to speakers. You just listen to the music. Detail is great too and the sound can move from dry to warm depending on the amplifier you use. I drive them with Audio Research LS7 and Mark Levinson 29 and it's fantastic!!! No better speaker for this money!!!
Weakness:
Mid low!! the cross over area can generate some "strange fenomenous" with very complex music (symphonic!!) The Aerious is a wonderfull speaker, with a great sound at a very competitive price. It need great electronics to sound well and, due to its low price, I think that the most of unhappy buyer drive them with commercial amplifiers!! In that case I agree that the sound is not pleasant. None These speaker's sound great after a great deal of break-in,30hr's or more.I found they needed a lot of space between them and the front wall, the wall behind the speaker.Mine are 4ft from the grill to the front wall with 1inch toe in.I use to run them off two NAD amp's.One of my amp's was getting repaired,my local shop sugested i try a BRYSTON 4BST.SIMPLY MAGIC.The new amp brought the sound to new height's.I am now convinced you need top end equipment to run the Logan's to reach their full potential.Upon saying that i have more upgrading to do[preamp, source, wire's]Has anyone tried an aftermarket power cord to these speaker's.These speaker's list for 3500 in CANADA,what a bargain in the USA. Well, I think that it is imperative for me to begin by stating that I am not a industry rep or do I own this pair of speakers. I am currently involved in a quest to find the best sounding pair of loudspeakers that there is out there without having to infringe on my retirement. |

What do you think of the word 'audiophile' ? ...'a person having an ardent interest in high fidelity sound reproduction' ...,..the roots are innocent enough, audio, from latin 'to hear' and 'phile', someone that loves or has a strong affinity or preference for...,...but any word ending in 'phile' gives me the geebee's...probably from connotations lent by 'pedophile'...( reinforced by the shared ( superficial ) social profile...? )...I'm sure many get the confused impression that an audiophile is an adult who is sexually attracted to young high fidelity components..., it's not a big deal, I just don't like the label...language might be, can be, is powerful in the way it shapes and defines us...like 'opera BUFF',...what's that short for ? Buffoon ? Why not just call people who go to the opera , opera assho's, or mothers ? ....having to check the box prior to posting put this in my head,...The Martin Logan Aerius i ...,...I've heard them in the past and have owned a pair for the last couple of months...,.with the fine, dandy , excellent and hypnotic-cool Sony cdp-xa7es, an I'm-very-pleased-with-Krell-Kav300i,...the cables and interconnects are Audioquest Indigo bi-wire, and Topaz ...,listening to Ute Lemper, Kurt Elling, Eric Clapton, Billie Holliday, Sonny Rollins, Sinead O'Connor, Donna Summer, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Tom Waits...is like a magic carpet ride to the show...YAWN...this much I knew I'd get after extensive pre-purchase trials and research..., I'd have been well dissapointed if the home experience had been less than sensational...it'd would've, ment I was too stupid to set them up properly at home...,..what I didn't expect was the magic with types of music I'd read over and over again the Aerius didn't play well...rap, industrial, hip-hop-hybrids, ...I had an old Ice Cube cd, America's Most Wanted,...I put it on without expectations,...only half attentive to the sound...what's this ? I was struck, it sounded great...it's not that it 'sounded', it was just there, or rather I was 'there', involved in the recording for the first time...,...I not talking about an audio bombast or assault...these are not 'the mother-of-all-speakers' dropping large bombs that I'd pressumed rap needed...yet I was involved as I'd never been...also , the Death in Vegas new cd, 'Dead Elvis', sounds great ...same goes for german industrial sounds like FM Einheit, Einsturzende Neuebauten, Boris Muzulic. For LISTENING to music these are the best speakers I've heard ( they are in my 18 x 14 bedroom, in a large room I'd say SL3 ). ...they are not for a dance club assault...but if the FBI had played M-L Aerius for the hold-outs in Wacco Texas mabey the history of the event would be different ...wouldn't anyone become hostile and irrational being attacked by large metal horn speakers ? Friends that stumble into the room ( see the speakers through the half open door and are curious because of the unique style ? ) invariably can't keep from pumping the volume when perplexed as to why I might like the sound system...if I'd wanted horrendous LOUD audio pollution...I would have bought a giant container of M-80's with my money...and let them off in the room a half dozen at a time when I needed an audio fix...BOOOM !!! (wow) ( ...sorry Gerry, as I know you'll be reading this ...) . Most leave the room unimpressed...only howlizers going off seems to impress many people ...mabey the measure of a sound system for them is, How much did it scare me ? a little ? Have I soiled myself ? Oh, goodness, I have, great sound !!! Martin . |

Best sound I could find for the money. ReQuests are my favorites, but need larger listening room. Apogee Stages also sound great, but are more finicky. |

As the main speakers in an audio system the Aerius fails miserably. However as the rear speakers in a pro logic surround system they succeed better than anything else that I've tried. Be careful with thes in a dolby digital system though, the Aerius's bass limitations limit their effectiveness in this role. |

I got to audition the Aerius a couple of months ago and wasn't really impressed by what I heard. The mids and highs did have the same detail found in other Logans, but as I listened to them I couldn't stop thinking that the panel simply needed to be broader. They just didn't have any deep midrange or bass. If you want to buy a pair of Logans I wouldn't even consider them unless you can shell out 3000 bucks for the SL3's. In the Aerius price range there is the B&W CDM7 which I auditioned later. They far surpassed the Logans in every respect. |
