Strength:
Crisp bass and highs; makes all types of music exciting
Weakness:
none I got these speakers to complement a NAD C340 int amp and 515 CD changer. I previously used these components with the Alpha Minis, another great product. I was looking for more bass but didn't want the boominess I heard of the Paradigms. The Mirage FRx-3s provide a good balance of highs, mids, and lows and encourages you to enjoy the music, which is what it's all about. The only thing I'd add at this point is the FRx-S10 sub for a little more bass. Similar Products Used: PSB Alpha Mini speakers, Acoustic Energy Aegis Ones and Threes, Paradigm Mini Monitors |

Strength:
smooth highs
Weakness:
none I recently decided to purchase a new stereo system. Went to the local quasi hi-end joint and listened to some speakers. I loved these little bookshelfs and took them home. Since then, mostly on the strength of reviews here and elsewhere, I totally upgraded my system. I'm now playing a Denon dcm370 cd player into a Velodyne ct120 sub into an Audiosource amp two amplifier out to the Mirages. All this for $1250. With the little Mirage bookshelfs at the heart of this system, the sound is beautiful. Great little speakers even at the retail price of $350/pair. Similar Products Used: thiel 03a |
