Strength:
Omnipolar technology, huge soundstage, pretty damn accurate and the low end!
Weakness:
NONE! Just an excellent purchase. Prioir to this speaker I had Vienna Acoustics Mozart setup with a Theatro center channel. While phenomenal for acoustic music and jazz, they just did not perform for for classic rock and especially home theater. The Vienna's just cannot handle the low end frequencies. I do have a Mirage BPS 400 sub which is fantastic and Mirage OM-R2 rear surrounds. So I tested the OM-7 and loved them. The omnipolar technology is fantastic and the OM-C2 is a perdect match. So I traded in my Vienna gear and went all Mirage! EXCELLENT! Make sure to give the Mirage's at least 50-100 hours of break-in. They will really open up once you allow them some time. Could not be happier. And plenty of low end! Similar Products Used: Vienna Acoustics, Boston Acoustics. |

Represents exceptional value. Omnipolar sound beautiful for large/odd rooms. Laid back sound never fatigues. Great style and aesthetic. Canadian!
Weakness:
None yet I am very plaesed with the OM-7''s. The sound is excellent and the dynamics are extraordinary. The best I have ever heard, and in black, they look fantastic. Superb for Home Theatre application as well. Highly recommended for a test to anyone. Similar Products Used: Klipsch, Paradigm, PSB. |

THE CHERRY FINISH AND BLACK MAT PANELS ARE A STRIKING MATCH-UP. THE BASE WILL HAVE YOU CHECKING TO SEE IF YOUR SUBWOOFER IS STILL ON.
Weakness:
NONE IT''S INCREDIBLE THAT THESE THINGS ARE AVAILABLE FOR SUCH A LOW PRICE. THE BUILD QUALITY AND OVERALL VISUAL APPEARANCE ARE ONLY OUT DONE BY THE BEAUTIFUL SOUNDS THESE ARE CAPABLE OF. I CONNECTED THESE TO MY 5.1 SYSTEM AND KICKED OUT MY INFINITY KAPPA 7.1''S, THE SOUND WAS IMPROVED TO THE POINT THAT I HAVE BRUISES ALL OVER MY ARMS FROM PINCHING MYSELF. THE SALESMAN AT THE STORE TRIED TO TALK ME INTO A FAR MORE EXPENSIVE SET OF B&W''S, THAT SOUNDED HOLLOW NEXT TO THESE. I SUPPOSE IT''S TO EACH HIS OWN, BUT I WON''T BE PARTING WITH THESE BABIES ANYTIME SOON. |

Pristine Sound, Superb Imaging, Unbelievable Detail!
Weakness:
Assembly for the feet/spikes has some flaws These speakers are simply gorgeous, both sonically and cosmetically. I could not believe the detail coming out of them! I played George Winston's "December", and could hear the foot pedals on the piano moving. I played some of my favorite jazz, and heard the pick of the guitar sliding across the strings -- something I had never noticed before. Similar Products Used: Mirage 390is, Phase Tech 7T |

Beautiful Design, Wonderful clarity and depth. Wife likes the look of the speaker
Weakness:
Becoming a couch potatoe I am replacing my wonderful OM10's and moving them to the rears The OM7 speakers are wonderful in everyway and an improvment form the previous OM Series speakers. Clearity, Depth, Detail, Bass and Imaging have been improved due to the new midrange driver. I listened to the to to many other speakers and there is without any doubt that the OM7's outperfromed them. I auditon the DefTech 2000 and yes they can go lower due to the Powered Sub, but everything else the Mirage is much better. Jamo Concert 11 nice top end and Midrange but terrible bottom end ( Very Muddy ). B&W CDMNT terrible bottom end and the Highs very hard on the ears. Way OverRated. The Focus Audio were nice a close second but when you look at the price difference the Mirage takes it. These speakers are indentical to the OM5 except for the Powered Sub, So they will do deeper and louder then the OM7 but the mids and highs are exectly the same. These speakers are really an excellent choice for overall sound from HT to 2 channel Stereo. I would put these speakers up against anything in the 3K range and be confident that they will hold it's own against them. Who needs to go to the movies when you have a better sounding system at home. Similar Products Used: DefTech BPS2000, B&W CDMNT Series, Jamo Concert 8 &10, Focus Audio Signiture Series, |

Strength:
spacious, enveloping soundfield. natural, uncolored reproduction. attractive construction.
Weakness:
imprecise, though decent, image. I am turning in my OM-10s for a pair of these. I have been a very happy OM-10 owner but have always felt the sound was a bit too warm and colored. I think this was partly due to the OM-10s cabinet design and 2-way setup. The mid range and bass shares the 6.5" drivers on the OM-10. The large ported cabinet gave it some bass extention at the expense of accuracy. These problems are fixed in the OM-7, an improvement in every way. It has a dedicated 8" woofer, providing far superior bass definition, a 4.5" midrange which gives uncolored, clear midrange with superior dispersion, and the same PTH 1" tweeter which is largely responsible for that seductive Mirage sound. Cabinet resonance is near 0 for the midrange since the monitor section of the speaker (like the oM-6 and 8) has the magets abutted back-to-back in bipolar fashion. Mirage has also done away with the fussy sock design in favor of the typical speaker grille. This is the exact design I was hoping for from mirage. Since I am opposed to speakers with powered subs, I was left only with the OM-10 as my choice...and one which kept me happy for a long time. But now, I'm thrilled. I heartily recommend the OM-7s for music and home theater. Those who demand WattPuppy precision for image, may not be happy with omnipolar design. For them, there is the MRM-1. Great Sound!
Weakness:
Umm... I bought these as floor models. They were floor models and I didn't even listen to them before buying...Hooked them up to my adcom 5500 and WOW, WOW, WOW. Incredible sound. They replaced a pair of Mirage 895is speakers which are mow my surrounds. For the money I dont think you can touch anything that sounds any where near as good. I listen to alot of high volume metal. These speakers have no problems playing it at all. Thankfully, I have no neighbors to worry about. These babies are definately not neighbor-friendly when connected to the adcom. Similar Products Used: Mirage 895is |

None Just bought a pair of OM-7 in the cherry wood finish. For the price, I have now a great pair of bipolar and they look great. I have to congratulate Mirage for finally coming up with a different finish other them gloss piano black. I would have never purchased them if they only came in black.
