I got these for 110 euro's from a seond hand market. I bought them to substitute my Alon's, because they need repair. I bought them because the price was very good, and on paper they would go well with my Audisector Patek amp.

They are absolute wonders for the price. Build quality is very solid, the sound is detailed, spacious, warm. Just very very enjoyable to listen to.

Mission suggest placing them close to the rear wall, but I like giving them much more free space. I have them toed in to a point on which they cross before my head. It creates a very open and deep soundstage.

The only critic I have is the deepest bass. The Missions seem to loose there grip in that region, but maybe that could be solved by a more powerful amp.

Overall I would say these are highly recommended. For the price it is an absolute steal.

I use these speakers as rearspeakers. My frontspeakers are phonar p 400 and they provide the bass. The Missonspeakers are excellent value for the money.

Used with Marantz CD63SE Arcam Alpha 9 amp Arcam Alpha 9P power-amp I listened to lots and lots and lots of speakers before buying these. This was the cheapest pair of speakers that I couldn't pick a fault with. They sound goo quiet, they sound good loud, the treble is clean, the mid is punchy, the bass is level. Everything is in proportion and is crystal clear at all volumes. They even look good, which wasn't a criteria in my purchasing decision. An indication of just how bablanced these are is in the tech specs - most speakers quote the 3dB levels for the low and high cut-off points. Mission quote the 1.5dB cut-off points for these. I cannot work out why these were in production for what seemed a short period of time. As the years wore on, I started using these with a DVD player and realised that the bass extension wasn't really low enough for action movies, so bought a sub. That is not needed for music.

No Low Extended Bass

What a find!I bought these speakers without actually auditioning them back in 1997. Actually i was the first in Australia to purchase a pair as there was nowhere for me to audition them. I had to wait a few anxious weeks whilst they were being shipped over from the U.K. At the time What HiFi had just reviewed them and gave them a 5 Star rating but that was when i was new to the audiophile scene. But things have changed alot since then but not my speakers. I guess i was just lucky that these speakers are actually very good. All that i have read about these reviews are true - they won''t rock the house but they will bring you deep inside the music esp. if you love jazz, classical (chamber music) and acoustic style of music. I prefer rich female acoustical styles like Sarah McGlaughaln, Eva Cassidy, Holly Cole, Cassandra Wilson just to name a few (my angels i call them). These speakers are so detailed with clarity and imaging that they make you start looking for the singer in the room, the speakers disappear. I have matched these beauties with a Unison Research II single ended valve amplifier (12Watts), Marantz MkII 63 KI CD Player, Sota Sapphire Turntable with Kimber Silver Streak Interconnects and Kimber Speaker Cable. Not a high end system by any stretch of the imagination but if i were to place you in the room with the lights off playing some luscious sweet female vocals i bet you''d be surprised once you knew what was playing. I have had these speakers for about 4.5yrs now and i am still not inclined to want to get rid of them. If you own a pair and think that it is time to upgrade look at your ancillary equipment first. Like i said earlier i have changed alot of my system since owning these and everytime i have changed i have been able to get more and more out of these speakers and i don''t doubt for a minute that i could probably still improve the attributes of these speakers by matching them with even better (more expensive) equipment. Do yourself a favour get a pair if you like the type of music i have just listed you will not be disappointed. But to get the most out of them be sure to match them with the right ancillary equipment. Be mindful that the purchase price i have listed is in Australian Dollars.

Build quality, tight fast & true bass, top end to die for

Big, loud, daft punk style, punching bass can push the woofers at high volumes.

I have owned a pair of the Mission 752F's for about two years and every time I sit down in front of them, I become more and more amazed at how free, quick and open they sound. Like every amatuear audiophile out there, I have couple of reference tracks that I demo their clarity with (Nuyorican Soul/It's Alright I feel it, Cypress Hill/Real Estate, Paul Weller/Broken Stones) and each time I play the tracks they sound better. The bass is so taught and fast, yet at the same time deep, clear and subtle enough to let you here distinct underlying riffs within a track. In my mind however, the top end is the speakers crowning glory. With what sounds like God's very own voice coil 'embedded' in the solid chasis, everything that passes through the silk dome is a joy to hear. Musicians breathe, strings are plucked and keys are struck. When you can hear this kind of detail in entry level audiophile speakers, you know that you've made a great investment.
My system is a modist one (Arcam 7 CD, Arcam 8 & 8P bi-amping the missions and, of course, a Rega Plannar 3 for analogue) but with the missions being the last link in the chain, it turns a $4,000 system into a system that sounds like it should cost twice as much. Want some speakers for less than $1,500 ? Don't think twice - go buy them.

Dynamics, detail, smooth highs

Deep bass extension( but that's not my thing)

I love these speakers......They are avery balanced speaker as opposed to most others that are tuned to the highs and lows. The danger with speakers like this is that they'll reveal weaknesses in your stereo so if your not hearing the highs, as some others have complained in this section, check your interconnects and other electronics. I run cyrus amps (bi amped) and silver kimbers and it's very bright without being even remotely brittle or gritty! They are the best speaker around for the money!

focus;mid clarity

HF extention

I bought a pair of 752F in 1996.
The amp is Cyrus and the CDP is now Cambridgeaudio D500 instead of the old Marantz CD19.
Impresive focus like the p3es,smooth any clear mid range which are more musical than B&W p6.
Lack of high frenquency extention.The feel is too warm to keep balance.
A little harsh when play some soprano recordings.

Lack of scale and frequency extension and therefore overall realism . Can sound clinical if not partnered carefully .

I have lived with a pair of Mission 752
freedoms for sometime now and there is no doubt that these are a most impressive loudspeaker for that window into the music , but it is that constant reminder of that's what you are getting that becomes their achilles heel in the end primarily because of there limitation with mostly Classical and Jazz to give you that "Your there feeling" or overall "atmosphere" as I prefer to call it , that all vital ingredient to that emotion called music . But what they excel at , clarity , speed and detail , they do superbly well and you will find the 752f endearing and much enhanced by the use of valve electronics on the front to take away the speakers natural tendency towards a clinical character.......do this an you will be rewarded with lucid , enveloping , warm , transparent midrage and sweet high's . But one thing you will still be missing is noticeable low end extension here(not to be confused with unwelcome over bearing bass)which is probably not all that surprising given it's intented design and price point .
But where it counts most this speaker ultimately comes up short , not quite giving you that sense of scale and realism of as close to a live performance you can get on a beer budget in our own lounge room , an ultimately isn't it that in the end we are all seeking in our quest for the Hi Fi holly grail . But don't go off spending without auditioning these because they are highly capable of impressing an are gorgeous to boot , it's just a matter of whether you can forgive them for their limitation .

Deep bass extension

These are (in my opinion) the best Mission has ever produced. They have a crisp sound compared to their competitors, especially the midrange. While they don't have very much extension in the bass (not too surprising given the size) what they do have is fast and clear. The treble is well balanced and does'nt hamper vocals with sibilence and in this way are far better than the 754F. Don't get me wrong, there are many finer speakers, but they are usually at least twice the price of the 752. It sounds good with a wide range of equipment, including Arcam, Cyrus, Talk Electronics, Marantz (all of which i've heard them with.) They have a very classy finish, especially when clad in the Rosewood option. Their drivers, Aerogel units developed by Audax, are of high quality having a good cast chassis rather than the more usual pressed steal and the Phase plug rather then dust cap also are quite rare at this price. I've heard the newer 78series and feel that the 752F is the better speaker, and by more than a small margin. All in all, it's a shame Mission have stopped building these beautifully engineered and wonderful looking speakers, for the price their a class act.
