I have a hard hunting for a good book shelf speaker to replace my B&w 602 for my second system for my study room.I founded the 602's very thin and boxy.So I go around Adelphi
to audit some ranges of the book shelf, but none has convince
me.Only after I read the summary post by Peck at this web,it
sounded very convincing and impressive. So I decided to purchase the Castle from Margil without audition to it with
full of confidence.

I start listening to it with my A-400.It sounded more like the B&W 602(Previous speaker)and very muffle and recess. So
I let the speaker run in for more than a month, believing that they will improve(normal practice for audiophiles). But
disapointment, they sounded almost the same as before.
And I decided to give it up because i can't stand the harsh
sound anymore.

I take the risk to purchase a pair of Monitor 2 from Precision Audio, regardless Peck lousy comments.HOLY COW!!!
This Monitor 2 sounded amazing fresh from the box.The high
was smooth and mid was rich with forgiving bass at it size.
Usually I don't demand deep bass for a small speaker, but at
it size the bass was suprisingly good. After month of breaking in,they dissolve in the music and sounded effortless with unbeliveable soundstage and depth.I have no regret of purchasing this this speaker.I believed I can live
with it for couple of years as my second system.

I highly recommended Monitor 2 for those who had problems looking for a good low budget book shelf.NO REGRETS,GET THEM!!!
