Geez, I feel like an idiot. The guys must really get around. I've seen posts here from NJ to CA and I'm from Denver. Same deal here: 2 guys, white van, magazine ad, MTS-2328. Even had the surround setup too. I just got home, and decided to research it a bit, and found this page. Since I only paid 200 for the pair, I don't feel that bad. Even bottom of the line floor standers start at around 75 a piece at best buy. They actually gave me a receipt from Rocky Mountain Home Theater Distributors, and the number seems to be valid, but the yellow pages show a different address(maybe an entirely separate company). Well, at least I didn't spend as much as some of you here. My sympathies.....

Just to let everyone know, that last review was by one of the pricks that ripped everyone off. He's writing about how the speakers are great and that it's everyone elses own fault for buying them and how some people are better hagglers than others. You need to shut your mouth Mark. You know everyone got ripped off. Your a piece of scum like everyone of those rip off artists. Fortunately, I didn't get ripped off but my co-worker did and his speakers don't even work. It's sad but there are people out there that still get jooped and that doesn't mean they DESERVE to get ripped off. Anyhow, that's about all I wanted to say.

I can fart to a song better than these speakers can

I got the same deal as everyone else. Bought them for 300 for the pair. The sound quality sucks compared to my old bose speakers. But the Bass is alright, it actually complements the Bose speakers alright. I'm not too pissed off but I wish I didn't shell out 300 for the pair.

Same story as many others; two guys in a white van. They told me that their company and ordered 4 speakers or something like that and they received 4 sets. Anyway, they wanted $350 each, but I offered $100 each. After I walked away, the passenger said that his parther was just being greedy, and that he would take $100 each, but asked for $20 more for beer money. NOT HAPPENING. I bought the speakers, hooked them up, and they sound really nice so far. Hey, if anything goes wrong, I too will be knocking on the doors of the manufacturer in Plainview.

Well I thought it was a scam.... but my white van came with a Chick (pretty nice looking too). My speaker model is the MTS-2328 and so far they are working pretty good. I don't have anything to compare them too, but they fill my room with sound and are much better than the speakers in my big-screen mitsubishi TV. Who knows if they will last but I live a town over from the Headquarters in Plainview. So if they blow, I'll just go over there with a gun and threaten to blow one of their heads off if they don't replace 'em. :)

not bad sound

2 speakers for $500...

remember when in cartoons those guys turn into jackasses when they do something stupid?...yeah, that's me right now...i got suckered into the same routine...got shown the whole mag thing with the $800+ retail price per speaker, thought i was getting a great deal...blah blah blah...anyhow...i actually went over to my buddie's and hooked them up to his home system, and they don't sound that bad at all, actually cranked up the sound, and they were pretty decent...i mean yeah, i did probably pay way too much for what i got, but hey, i'm making back the money tonight that i paid for the speakers, so i guess i'm not that sore about it besides being a complete moron thinking that something like this could actually be legit...i guess i'll keep them around till they blow, or at least throw them at aliens whenever they end up invading...

All my guests comment on the quality musical and HT experience from my speakers (& Yamaha RXV-2200). Was taught: "Pay peanuts and you get monkeys", but there are still great deals to be found. Didn't have to deal with tattoo-ed, con-artist punks in a parking lot.

Guys, Sorry to hear so many people got swindled whilst trying to get a "good" speaker deal. (...off the back of a truck?) I thought I might point you in the right direction with your next speaker purchase, seeing that most of you had about $300 bucks to spend. The Mirage FRx-3 retails for US$350 a pair(your negotiation skills can bring this down to ~$300); beautiful, balanced and accurarate sound (tight base), solid and heavy build and looks good too (in cherry) with five year warranty. I bought these (from an audio store!) with the FRX-9s(these are fantastic & more expensive), but was totally surprised with the FRx-3's performance for the low dollar.

Damn that white van. They stated they unexpectedly got extra speakers at a ware house and were selling these real cheap so they can go to the strip club. They stated they were home theater installers. Next time I see them, I'm going to beat them with a club.
