I listened to the SuperZeroes and SuperOnes side-by-side. The imaging and transparency of the SuperZeroes is superior! I know this sounds strange, especially since NHT claims that these two sound identical about 85Hz but try it for yourself. If you have a sub, go for the SuperZeroes instead. |

Current System setup: Hafler P1500 trans•nova amp driving NHT SuperOnes, Hafler P3000 trans•nova driving pair of Polk Audio DB12 subs in a custom built 4th order bandpass enclosure, dbx crossover Fc @ 75Hz I own a home recording studio and use the SuperOnes as my reference monitors when I record music. So far I have been pleased with their true performance providing excellent room monitoring.Speakers have come and gone due to the fact that some speakers tend to color sound causing an improper recording. For instance I have been previously using JBL monitors and they were somewhat dull, finding out I had pumped too much treble into a recording because of this. The NHTs have a pretty true response and I haven't any complaints. Musically they are excellent. Tight bass and the most pleasant midrange I've ever heard. They have a pretty low sensitivity, however. If you want to play them loud you'll probably need a 150 watt amp. I don't mind this because I use them in close proximity atop my mixing console (and they're transparent). These speakers are an extremely great value for the quality of sound they produce. Highly recommended for both professional and home use. |

NHT Superones just beat out the Paradigm MiniMrIII for my choice as best speakers in the under 500 dollar range. Spectacular imaging, a very fine midrange that makes any vocal music sparkle, and well controlled midbass combine to make them the winner. But it was very close. (so close the Paradigms ended up in the bedroom paired with a cambridge soundworks subwoofer) With my Superones costing me $260 and my Paradigms bought used at $200 I could hardly get better speakers for the price of BOTH pair that I have. |

The SuperOnes can provide a great sounding system provided you follow a few guidelines: 1) Get a sub! I'm not a bass-addict or anything, but if you want a kick-drum to give you a good thud in the chest, you'll need more bass than the SuperOnes can give ya. NHT's SubOne does a great job and is a good match for these. 2) Toe them in. This can help the soundstage tremendously. Try them toed in to where you cannot see the inside sides of the enclosures from your listening position. 3) Use a decent amp/receiver to drive them. I don't mean run out and buy a $3K 5 channel amp, but don't expect miracles from a $200 Circuit city closeout receiver. |

Strength:
Transparent, accurate rendition.
Weakness:
Good bass for their size, but they're small! These are simply great speakers. They are tonally quite neutral and reproduce accurately the sound of voices and instruments. The SuperOne is a great choice, therefore, if you play a lot of classical, jazz, and acoustic music, where tonal accuracy really counts. For rock they simply cannot produce the deep bass available from larger speakers. This is not a criticism -- the SuperOnes punch above their weight, but they're simply not big enough to shake the room, even, as is the case in my set-up, when driven by a 100w amp. If you're into thunderous bass, you can add a sub. I've heard these speakers with the NHT SubOne, and the depth of that combination is really impressive. But for my listening, in a small room, with neighbors (sigh), I won't buy the sub. |

Strength:
Clarity, accuracy, bass, price After extensive research and auditioning, these are the best speakers I could find in their price point ($300/pair). Eventually I plan to upgrade to Martin-Logan Scenarios (which I found to be awesome, though expensive at $1700/pair), but for now space is a constraint. Excellent clarity and accuracy of reproduction. Tight bass, lack of boominess common to other speakers in this price range. Sound nearly as good as to NHT Super Twos but with less space requirement. NHTs tend to be a less efficient than other speakers and require a quality receiver. Highly recommend trying them out. They are hard to beat for the price. Strength:
Highs, Mids. Looks great with high-gloss finish. Big sound from small package. Amazing sound from a speaker so small. Reproduces sound realistically with great high amount of detail. Looks really cool too. To all you guys who bought yours online: Where is the best deal on the web? I've been listening to these at a local store and am convinced that I can buy them for under 300 somewhere online... |

Strength:
Warm, rich sound. Highs and Mids are great.
Weakness:
Sealed woofer makes this speaker not very efficient. Needs a lot of power for such a small speaker. First, here is my setup: Similar Products Used: Listened to them all (not quite all, Wilson Audio's and Martin Logan's were out of my price range). |
