Strength:
Accurate and clean
Weakness:
None (those who compain about lack of bass need a reality check). When matched with a quality sub and amp this speaker is simply amazing. I use them as the surrounds in my HT setup along with Super2's in the front, a Paradigm CC70 center and a home-made sub (jbl amp and seas 10" driver). Driven by a HK AVR75. Similar Products Used: Infinity RS-2000, JVC (crap). |

None of my friends can believe the sound of these speakers (I still can't even believe it). Even one of my bookshelf-stereo-owning friends remarked that "they just disappear." This is coming from a friend who is completely ignorant in the sphere of home audio. Hands down these are the BEST speakers on the market for the price. Trade in whatever you have, or at least demo a pair. You'll be doing yourself a favor. Five very enthusiastic stars. |

Strength:
midrange clarity, tonal accuracy
Weakness:
none observed Use with NHT SubOne subwoofer. This combination apparently was well matched by designers at NHT as there isn't the usual audible gap in the overlap between satellites and sub. Used mostly for small ensemble chamber music and small ensemble acoustic jazz - little or no electronic music. Vocals and all acoustic instruments sound real [experience as a musician is my reference point]. SuperZeros(Xu version) are powered by Harman-Kardon AVR70 in stereo mode(80Wpc). Used in small living room so plenty of SPL. Midrange produced by SuperZeros is as good as I have heard in 40 years of auditioning many types and sizes of speakers. Reveals poor recordings mercilessly. NHT SubOne is also outstanding - very quick and realistic sounding. With SuperZeros, SubOne does all the work below about 110Hz. Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
Accurate mid and highs, xu version is wall mountable.
Weakness:
No bass to speak of. The system needs a subwoofer if you use these. The SuperZero is an obvious upgrade for anyone looking to improve their audio over swap meet and department store quality speakers. Unless you spend quite a bit more, SuperZeros are about as good as a minimonitor gets. They are best for small rooms; don't expect to create a soundstage in a big room with these. A similar type of speaker is made by Klipsch and Yamaha. Demoing, the Klipsch sounded too bright to me and the Yamaha was dull. Break them in like any other speaker and don't use cheap speaker cable! Use good cable with pins/plugs so you can't blame the wiring. I use mine these days with my PC for music and effects playback and with an NEC amp and a Yamaha YST-SW45 subwoofer they are perfect. Similar Products Used: Various cheapies. |

Weakness:
-Ditto- M.A. I think I got these confusion sorted out. Gene is an Army officer. No doubt he has intensive and regular gun firing training which somehow affects his hearing. Probably since the CSW Ensemble would sound louder, Gene's ears interpreted them as "better" sounding. Perhaps the Super Zero's softer music presentation (due to the fact that it only has a sensitivity of 85dB) prompted Gene's ears to judge it inferior. No offense meant to Gene, I'm just giving an opinion on how he could have came up with such comparison on the two speakers discussed (Ensemble and NHT SuperZero). Super Zero and SWP1 for home theater sounds great for music and video. Dissapointed with quality of construction. Lots of glue globs. Very Poor service from dealer. |

Audiophile quality at superstore prices! I picked a quintet of SuperZeros for my home theater and an SW2P to round out the bottom end. The extremely accurate and revealing highs coupled seamlessly to the midrange was the first pro. The second and decisive pro was that they are all available in a very aesthetic high gloss white laminate finish. I guarantee them to pass the wife test, if applicable. Power handling is only moderate. Higher power needs and slightly more $ should consider the Super One. |

For months, I've been trying to decide between the NHT SuperZeroes and the Paradigm Atoms. Initially, I had thought the Atoms sounded more "musical" and they were cheaper to boot ($179/pair versus $250/pair). But, the NHTs have a terrific soundstage and are so "airy" sounding and that is the most important attribute for me. In fact, I was rather surprised because I listened to both the SuperZeroes and the SuperOnes and, contrary to NHT's claims, they do NOT sound identical about 85Hz! The Zeroes simply sounded more transparent in the highs although I cannot explain why. If you have a subwoofer, the SuperZeroes are definitely the way to go. BTW, I listened to the much touted B&W 302s and I still liked the NHTs and Paradigms better. For their price, and knowing the limitations of the low-end and the need for a subwoofer, an outstanding value. |
