Strength:

Incredible sound from such a small speaker.

Weakness:

none

I use this speaker for my surrounds in my home theater set up with my super ones up front and a vs1.2a in the center. These small speakers are a perfect match. Like the Super Ones, they do require more power than you might think in order to really open them up. Other than this, the highs are cystal clear and the mids are warm and colorful. Of course there isn't much base, but look at the size of them, they weren't designed for base. I own the XU's and I believe they are the perfect surrounds for my setup.

Strength:

Midrange, liquid sound if you tweaking well

Weakness:

upper octave a little dull

This is the 2nd post for this small spkr,i will not waste
the time to state its strong pts again,i wd only like to
suggested some points for all the spuer zero owners in
order to improve the performance of this spkr.

1.place it with a stone material pyramid shaped cone,
pls note, its not normal stone that you wl pick up at beach!
thats the one like "lapis lazulli","agate",& "red jasper"
(the very famous cartidge "Keseki"also use such materials
for the shell of the LP cartidge" & prices around
US$20,000 for "Lapis" !)
May be in your country its not easy to find, however, try
to find some.

2.Even you cannot find the stuffs at point 1 above, try to
find some lapis/agate etc. statue(or others, may be can find in some shop where they sell semi-stones) and place
such stuffs on the top of the speakers, the sonic performances of the super zero will be improved very
obviously!(especially the "liquidity" of midrange")

3.the placement method of the point 2 should be try by
yourself.

My system:-
Yamaha CDX993 CD Player
Unison Research Simply 2 int.amp.
silver streak interconnect
4TC speaker cable
Yamaha yst-sw45 subwoofer
All gears placed with semi_gems stones cones.,speaker
top places with lapis lazulli stones/agate etc.

Strength:

Bang for the buck
Cleaner highs than anything in similar price range.

Weakness:

slight brightness
no bass ... duh!

I've been using SuperZero's before they got really popular. At the time, I had listened to other speakers from B&W,PSB, but they all sounded pretty muddy and crappy to me. I personally like speakers that are really detailed and revealing. For those of you who have money to burn, I would recommend Thiel since their speakers are also very detailed but not as bright as NHT. My system consists of NHT Super0's, sw2P,NAD 502/304,Kimber PBJ,AudioQuest Type4.

Strength:

Construction, finishing, highs and mids, overall balance, size

Weakness:

Seems to be a paper cone driver...why NHT did not use a better material?

First, please remove 12 from the 13 reviews posted by Musicman! This are excellent minimonitors; in fact, I do not find its sound dull, harsh or "electronic" like some reviewer wrote; they have a very natural highs and, even with a so little bass driver, the mid bass are warmth and very pleasing to the ear at low volumes. When I purchased them I was thinking to use them as surrounds in my A/V system, but when I heard them now I am thinking to use them as front speakers for a second stereo system in my bedroom. They are absolutely superior to Boston Acoustics CR6 in terms of no colored sound, but I will give them a star minus because of the cone material.
