Strength:
Articulate mids and highs, strong bass that is tight but not too tight. Bi-amplifiable, bi-wirable, and price.
Weakness:
Video mode (drivers in rear) are useless and I never engage that mode. I'd rather see an extra 6.5 inch mid-bass driver in front. Heavy, large, imaging could(?) be a bit better. Broke a speaker binding post, internal wiring cheap. No video shielding on side woofer's and distorts picture on 50" Mitsubishi rear projection tv when too close. Not real hip on the black piano high gloss finish. There are no doubt better speakers out there, but one simply cannot beat the bang for the buck. The VT2.4's appear to be very transparent/revealing, dynamic, etc.. They definitely require at least 100 wpc of quality amplification. Tracy Chapman's (a flaming liberal, ugh) 10 year old cd is a first rate recording with lots of dynamic ranges, extreme low's, etc.. Similar Products Used: Infinity Overture II's (not bad really). Aerial Accoustic CC3's (2 center channels build quality first rate) but expensive and of course both lack low and mid-bass. |
