    Strength:

Highs, mids, and bass are all great. " Is the band in the room?" kind of sound.

    Weakness:

    None I'm aware of.

These are fantastic speakers. All genres of music sound great. I listen to everything from Aerosmith to Wagner and everything in between.Tried them with the Stones, McCartney, Floyd, Nat King Cole, Mozart, etc.. They did a wonderful job with all varieties. Lifelike, uncolored, lush, warm and rich are adjectives I'd use to describe them. Superior audiofile sound at a very reasonable price. The best speakers I've owned and I'm still in the break in period.

    Strength:

Accurate reproduction with a wide and open sound. Plenty of base but overall very balanced. Crisp clear human voice and vocals.

    Weakness:

    None so far.

I finally upgraded from stereo to surround sound. I had a Carver receiver and large conventional JS Audio 415P speakers which were too big to fit on either side of my TV. I consulted with the Ohm factory directly via email and phone. With the company president's help and advice, I chose the Ohm microwalsh talls up front, shorts in the rear and microwalsh center channel to run on my sunfire ultimate receiver. He even recommended the sunfire signiture sub and not his own. Shipping and packaging were flawless. The speakers are well made and attractive. They can easily blend in with any decor. The 120 day home test and money back guarantee is reassuring but I can't imagine anyone would actually return the speakers after listening to them. The sound is truly wonderful. They sound great with classical, jazz, rock, latin and opera in simple stereo mode. DVDs in surround sound are truly breathtaking. With classical music playing and my eyes closed, I feel as though I am sitting in the forth row at Carnegie Hall. What more can I say.

    Strength:

Big soundstage, palpable mids, silky highs. Small footprint (8" x 8"). These are great for seduction...women love the sound...need I say more?

    Weakness:

Not bi-wireable. My Parasound had an incredibly firm grip on the bass. My MV55 gives up a little in bass control but ohhh, the mids and highs are luscious.

I have owned B&W 802(II), ML Request, ML Aerius and have auditioned countless speakers. I had the Aerius in my bedroom and was looking for something that was easier to place, big soundstage and good detail. After 5 years with electrostatics, I dislike box speakers and was hesitant to try anything in a cabinet. However, after reading the positive comments about OHM on this site and other audiophile sites, I decided to give them a try. Heck, money back guarantee after 120 day home trial...an audiophile's wet dream. I have spent many years buying & selling stereo equipment on the net because I couldn't get home auditions on high-end equipment that interested me. This is a good deal for those who are have the high-end affliction. I used a Parasound HCA1500A for a week (50+ hours) to break them in and then switched to my CJ MV55 for critical listening. (I really love tubes.) The Microwalshes sounded okay with the Parasound...big soundstage, great control of the bass, smooth mids/highs and the detail was on par with the Aerius (I was very surprised by this aspect of the speaker). BUT, the switch to tubes was incredible. HUGE soundstage, palpable midrange, silky highs. It reminded me of the warmth from the B&W 802s but with more detail and a bigger soundstage. The best part is that they are small & light. So, I put them near the wall for background listening and move them about 3 feet into the room when I want to really enjoy my music collection. Strength:

They sound like a big Ohm Walsh speaker at a fraction of the size and price. Crystal clear, very natural vocals, the best imaging and sense of space you probably have ever experienced.

    Weakness:

They are relatively easy to drive but thrive with good amplification.

I have older Ohm Walsh speakers and recommended these to a friend when he was in the market for home theater speakers. He bought the Tall MicroWalshes, a Walsh Center Channel, SAT-1 surrounds, and the mid-sized Ohm subwoofer. The sound from the system is absolutely amazing, clean, crisp, and realistic, results way beyond the price he paid. The realistic sound and special effects will give you goosebumps! Even without the sub, the speakers sound full and the bass is deep, tight and realistic.
