This speaker system is powered by a Yamaha RX-V 795 and with my RCA 5510 DVD player sounds very good. Especially considering the clearance price from Sound City of $850.00 plus shipping, anyone else who picked up this system got a fantastic buy. It was a risk I took not knowing anything about Onyko speakers, but one I certainly don't regret. I'd like to know what others think about this speaker system. I have no reservation in giving this 5 stars. |

I agree with the rating for this set. I purchased them for $850 from Sound City and have had no regrets, despite one of the speakers having a defective woofer (which was eventually replaced for free by Onkyo). I could not normally afford speakers in this class. The subwoofer (powered dual 12") alone is nearly worth the asking price. I did a little hunting on the web and it looks like these normally sold for $3,499 in the US (and still sell for that much or more in Europe). Wow! |

Strength:
Incredible Imaging, Superior Base, Highs, and Mids.
Weakness:
So far I heard.... NONE!!! These are by far the best sounding speakers I have heard. I picked them up for 300 Bucks... (Yes I did) The Base, Highs and mids are perfect. They match perfectly with my velodyne sub. All exept the sub is from Onkyo. Similar Products Used: Infinity RS3, Velodyne CT100 |

Strength:
Good DVD move audio, durable cabinets, nice imaging, decent bass.
Weakness:
Main speakers are tall and thin and tend to fall over. They need to be placed up 3 to 4 inches on a base for best imaging. Anyone else have the same bass issue that I have? Just wondering if there's a fix other than replacing one of the 2 subwoofers... Thanks. |
