Strength:

Excellent high's and mid range. Great base, tight and well defined

Weakness:

none

Highly recommend these speakers to anybody for music or home theater. I listened to B&W and Difinitive Teck before I bought these, and it will cost you $2500 to even come close to what these things can do. I owned a pair of Sound Dynamics before these and there is no comparing the two. I power the speakers with a Denon AVR-2801, also a great amp for the price. I auditioned a Rotel 2 channel amp to go with these speakers at some point in the future and it makes the Monitors sound even better. It's amazing what 130 high current watts will do.

Strength:

Pefect clarity even at high volumes. Warm smooth sound. Tight accurate midbass and bass. Awesome soundfield. Solid build quality and wonderful to look at.

Weakness:

the 3 bass drivers are 6.5 inches, this is great for everything except the low bass notes. But being that this is only a 2.5 way speaker you will probably want to add a sub anyway depending on what you listen to and whether you have neighbors or not...I use the pw-2200--PERFECT.

This is an early review, a more detailed one will follow. Overall, I love them. The bass output will probably be plenty for most just by turning the bass up a notch or two. I will keep you posted.

Strength:

Very smooth highs, as well as punchy mid-bass. The vocal's range is excellent

Weakness:

notta-one

I work at an electronics store which carries many different home audio brands, but these just didn't have 100% of what my taste was so I turned to my neighbor who owns an electronic store near me and had him demo different paradigm models for me. I was very pleased with these speakers even before the break in period, (which I liked even more once they were broken in). I listen to anything from Jazz to Rap and R/B, these speakers do it all, without any hesitation or distortion.

I would recommend these speakers to anyone who doesn't want to spend ton's of money but want's a very natural sounding speaker that can handle anything you put to them. Thanks Rob

Strength:

Incredible sound. Crystal clear

Weakness:

None found so far

I have heard Cerwin Vegas that get louder but the distortion on them is horrible. These Monitor 11 v2 are awesome. Even at extreme volume they are crystal clear. The sound is like being there in the action. I also have the PW-2200 and while watching Saving Private Ryan you feel like you are on Omaha Beach at D-Day when they come ashore.

Strength:

Clarity, transparancy, detail, accuracy, and imaging. Soundstage is huge and lower bass is full, tight and defined. A very dynamic speaker with a lush top end and a smooth mid range. Build qaulity is excellent and the drivers/x-overs are all designed and built by Paradigm as always. Price vs. performance ratio is incredible!

Weakness:

No real wood veneer but the qaulity drivers, internal bracing and overall build qaulity makes up for it! I wouldn't call this a weakness, but I must say - since it is such a neutral speaker with a metal tweeter... bright electronics may cause them to sound bright to some listeners.

My first decent speaker was the MA Silver 5i. I liked them at first, but after a while... they became too bright for me and seemed to fall apart at higher volumes. I then upgraded to the MA Silver 9i. The 9i was much better than the 5 in every way, but the tweeter was the same as the 5 and I couldn't live with the brightness and sibilance problems. I then thought for sure that I would NEVER go back to a metal tweeter. So I brought home a pair of Meadowlark Kestrals. The Kestrals were very nice... well balanced, smooth, detailed - but they didn't play loud enough for my taste. So I settled on a pair of M&K S-125 satellites because of their warm, laid back nature and excellent imaging ability. They were also very dynamic for a satellite speaker. But after a couple months, the S-125's became too uninvolving, and I noticed that the music wasn't extending much beyond the speaker. They had a detailed top end, but it wasn't as smooth and refined as I was looking for. They also muffled certain instruments and subtle details that the MA's were able to reproduce. Finally, I realized that the S-125's weren't doing it for me either so I sold them like the rest of my previous speakers.

I decided to visit my local Paradigm dealer, and the first speaker I listened to was the Mini Monitor v2's. They were hooked up to a Onkyo Integra DTR 5.1 receiver. I couldn't believe how smooth they were for a $350 set, and how well they imaged. There was no sign of brightness either, and I was amazed since they do feature a titanium tweeter. I liked them but I really wanted a full range speaker again. The following week, my dealer brought in a pair of Paradigm Monitor 11 v2's, and I told him that I'd give them an audition after they broke in. So I proceeded to my dealer a week later to give them a listen hooked to the same Integra DTR 5.1 receiver. They were a completely upscaled version of the Mini Monitor - they sounded similar in the highs, but the mid range and body was fuller and more accurate, and lower bass was obviously much better being a floorstander. The 11's were much more dynamic than the MM, and they sounded smoother and more refined... probably because they were so much more well balanced. Imaging was the same as the MM, but soundstage depth, width and height was much larger, and more 3-D. Instruments and vocals extended way out beyond the speaker, and the detail was amazing. Bass is full, tight and defined... but I'd recommend the use of a sub for bass freaks or larger rooms. Bottom line: they sounded better than all of the speakers that I had previously owned - even the 2K Monitor Audio Silver 9i's. I couldn't believe that the 11's only retailed for a grand! I also couldn't believe that I had finally found my speaker, and it featured a metal tweeter. But according to Paradigm, their new v2 line has been greatly improved. I was so impressed because the titanium tweeter did not break up at high volumes and did not over-emphasize sibilance.

I have owned the 11's for about 3 months now, and I am still very impressed with them. The Integra receiver was a great match, so I decided to sell my EAD seperates and buy the Integra 7.1 receiver. Sure, the EAD seperates were superior but the $1500 looked better back in my wallet. If you are searching for a floorstander in this price range, then do yourself a favor and check these speakers out. For a grand or less... they are a no brainer.
