Strength:

> 10 years of extreme abuse, no damage, decent sound

Weakness:

harsh midrange,

I've had these speakers for over 10 years, and am not
afraid to turn them up until you can smell them at 6
feet. We're not talking about audiophile equipment here,
but these speakers do deserve a halfway good rating
for durability and value in the consumer-crap market.
They've always sounded good, not great, and a nice match
for heavy metal, space rock, and other hard music. I recently replaced my Sony STR-D790 amp with an Acurus A250 amp and RL-11 pre, opting to buy a new amp and pre first
so I could match speakers to them later. That was over
6 months ago, and the Pioneers have never sounded better
- the urgency I thought I would feel to rush out and
replace them didn't hit me like I thought it would. Nevertheless, I've got my eye out for some older Klipsch's to replace these rockers.

The reviewer who said you have to get these off the floor
is DEAD RIGHT. I've got them on some very lithic 16"
wooden stands with felt pads, and it helps quite a bit.

If you find a pair of these for $50, buy them and throw
them on a second system in your basement, or use them
outside - you'll get your $50's worth, maybe more!

Strength:

Price, simplicity, decent sound for the money, decent highs

Weakness:

Speaker terminals come out, bass is weak.

You seem to be able to hear the bass better in the rooms around these speakers. I am using them with a Harmon Kardon 3270 which made them 100's of times better than my Sony STRAV-320 which is 9 years old and served well even though it is no where near top of the line. I was 10 years old and it was the best I could find for the money. So were the speakers! If you are in this price range the Polk RT 15 are much smaller but have more bass and better highs than these CS-G203's. That is embarrassing!

Strength:

Bass, highs

Weakness:

midrange

People on this page seem to think this speaker cannot produce bass. Personally, I have no idea what they are talking about. First off, this is a bookshelf speaker, so it is not meant to be sitting on the floor. I find that if you do put them very low, then hey, the bass dissapears. Mount them high, and there is plenty of bass. However, overall sound is best described as harsh. Granted, I don't have a stellar receiver setup (Sony STR-D665), but the midrange just overpowers the tweeter, and unfortunately there are no manual adjustments on the speaker.

Also, these speakers are very sensitive. They get loud quicker than any other speaker i've ever tried. They require very little power, but i doubt you will ever get close to the claimed rating of 100 watt power handling before the harshness becomes excruciating.
