Strength:

The sound quality is great. I’ve owned mine since new. Never let me down. Guess what audiophiles, they don’t cost a arm and a leg, so don’t hold that against them. Dollar for dollar, can’t beat them, So, get over it. If you can find a set, snatch them up. You won’t be disappointed.

Weakness:

Over the years, if you don’t keep them away from direct sunlight, the cover material will deteriorate. Mine are in great shape. I learned my lesson on another set of speaker I bought I. The late 60s.

Strength:

I owned a pair of these for about ten or so years. Great overall sound for big box speakers.

Weakness:

The appearance was awful. Big and clunky looking.

I bought these from a garage/estate sale a year ago for 50 cents, and I wasn't sure if they worked or not but 50 cents is a bargain either way just for the boxes alone, I just got a receiver today and got them all hooked up, needless to say I'm blown away by the performance of these. Even lower than half volume they make the house rattle. I have to say it's the best 50 cents I've ever spent and ever will.

Bought a pair at goodwill for $12.99. Best buy I've ever made for my harmon/kardon 680i receiver. They sound great. Can't take them over 3/4 volume in my detached garage mancave though. In town neighbors.??

I am as some could say a casual listener, but i love loud music of all types. when i was in 5th grade, i spend $750 on a new pair of klipsch rb-81s. as they are great speakers i love old big speakers. one day i was in goodwill and saw these speakers for 50 dollars. I bot them hooked them up, turned up the bass and the trebble and WOW! these sound so much better than my expensive klipsch speakers. i hear all the trebble and voice clearly. and the bass on these things is amazing. to me they sound studio quality. ive never had so much satisfaction from a speaker. I am about to get my 1t-12s fixed so then ill have something to compare them to. I am a csg303 finatic. if you see these, BUY THEM you will be impressed, when i got them most of the dustcaps were dented and they didnt look good, but they sound amazing!

these speakers are pretty good for what you pay, have a nice mild tone not to much trebel. 12" woofer has decent bass and good power handling. i have these set up with two other pioneer cs-g7000 and together it get very loud and sounds great. if ya can get these for less than 100$ then these are great speakers...

I work with electronics and speakers and I am not going to give a good rate for those speakers. Very big lack of bass for pioneer speakers with 12" woofers. They are very nice looking speakers and thats is about it. If you are looking for good sound those are not the speakers for you. They are more for highs. If you give them a little bit more bass you can hear how they can't handle it. I will recommend pioneer CS-G403 with the 16" woofers, they sound much better!
