Strength:

Nice sound, clear, decent bass.

Weakness:

Inefficient

Bought these about 2 weeks ago as rear surrounds. They sound real nice and can be played quite loud before any distortion creeps in. These speakers are not very efficient as I noticed I had to turn up my Yamaha 5250 fairly high to get these to sing. Overall a good, solid set of speakers with nice, clear highs and decent bass. Not comparable to some high end bookshelfs but then again spent less that $100 on the pair. Good deal for the money.

Strength:

Good bass, clear and well defined sound.

Weakness:

None so far

Wanting to complete my home theater system with a decent pair of bookshelf speakers, I decided to go with these nice looking Pioneers'. They got mostly great reviews from customers at the CC website which prompted me to get these. I was also interested in a pair of Sony speakers, but the salesman at CC recommended that I go with this set. He was right, too. They sound great. They are really good with bass also, even more so that the pair of Pioneer Floorstanding speakers that I had used. I had originally bought the floorstanding speakers thinking that they would handle bass effects with no problems without the use of a sub. Boy, was I wrong. So, I took them back, and figured it was best to go with bookshelf speakers and buy a powered subwoofer to take care of the bass. Even without the sub, these speakers are very good with bass, but I'd rather the sub take care of that for me. I'm using these speakers with the Harmon/Kardon AVR-110 Receiver, a Technics' Surround/Center Speaker Package, and a 100 Watt RCA Subwoofer. Theses Pioneers' may not be the best for my receiver, but, for the price, they can't be beat.

None!

I love these little monsters! They are MUCH better than my friends Bose 301s. They were a great replacement for my Radio Shack speakers that the cat destroyed. These speakers are efficient for their size. If you are cramped for space and and money these are great speakers. These performed better than any bookshelf speaker I have ever heard in the 40 to 250 dollar price range. Beyond my wildest dreams describes these very good speakers. They are even shielded! Thebass will astound you!
