Bass is nicely extended with good weight. "Airy" treble. Very solid construction!

Midrange is laid-back a bit - not a true weakness, but reason to audition with your music.

When most people hear the brand Platinum Audio, the excellent Solo comes to mind. However I am pleased to see (and hear) that Platinum Audio builds a truly good affordable loudspeaker line as well. These loudspeakers are surprisingly heavy and very well built! Bass performance is satisfying without the need of a subwoofer - in fact bass quantity can be a bit strong if located too close to room boundaries. Midrange is a bit laid-back in my opinion - not a fault, but I do recommend listening to them with your music and decide for yourself. Treble is what I expect to hear out of a pair of Platinums - wonderful. As of this writing, this loudspeaker (as well as the other PT series from Platinum) can be found at reduced prices from a couple reputable mail-order sources... don't confuse low cost with low quality... these are serious loudspeakers! Highly recommended.
