Strength:
- Best sounding speaker for this price. - Sound is brutally honest - so be prepared to rediscover your favorite recordings!! - Excellent for a variety of audio and HT applications
Weakness:
- Very, very heavy - Not suitable for smaller rooms (side-firing bass seems disconnected from mids and highs) - Need a lot of power to sound their best. - Will potentially cause neighbor-relations issues. These speakers are simply amazing. Polk has created a product that is both versatile and incredibly high-quality. After researching and reading reviews, I was expecting a speaker that was better suited for HT applications and higher-distortion music, such as rock... what I discovered, though, is that the LSi/15's are incredibly musical. Classical guitar, jazz, and chamber music comes through with incredible truth. In fact, the main "issue" with these speakers is that they reproduce music so accurately and present such a clear and deep soundstage that flaws in lower-quality recordings become very, very apparent. I was amazed to hear imperfections in some of my favorite rock CDs - things I never noticed before! These speakers need some serious juice... I'm using a Denon 3802 with 12-gauge cables, and it seems sufficient. My only complaint is that their design is not really suitable for smaller rooms... but in more open spaces the sound is unbeatable. Overall, an amazing speaker for the price, and one I would heartily recommend for any middle-end system. |

Strength:
Great clarity, never noticed some sounds on my cds, until I played them on these speakers.
Weakness:
None that I can tell at this time. Lets just start off by saying that these speakers are wonderful. I had been researching various speakers for a while and then I was refered to by a friend that I should try out the polk speakers. I was impressed by how well they sounded. I tried out the polk rti70 speakers in the store and was about to get them, but then I came across the lsi series and started researching them. They didn't have any at the stores to test them out. I just had to go by the reviews, which I'm glad that there are some out there. I'm glad that I did go with these speakers they sound so much clearer than the rti70. They were a more $, but I know that I will be happy with these speakers in the long run. I tested out some of my cds and was just blown away with how good they sound. It makes you want to listen to your whole collection all over again just to hear how they will sound on these speakers. I would recommend these speakers to anyone who wants the best sounding system at a reasonable cost Similar Products Used: Polk rti70, bose |

Strength:
Crisp highs and mid-range sound like much more expensive speakers.
Weakness:
If you like a lot of bass, recommend using in conjunction with your sub-woofer. Not easy to move around (heavy) I bought the Lsi 15 without a personal preview as I could not find locally. So I was a bit apprehensive as I was replacing by beloved Phase Technology speakers. I am glad to say that these are very impressive speakers, the highs a mid-range are spectacular. Bass is tight but not boomy, would recomment using in conjunction with a sub-woofer. The speaker creates an excellent ambient sound, the sound seems to travel every where yet they are very tight and crisp. I have heard sounds in these speakers that I never picked up with my old system. They are also very pleaseing to the eye. Would highly recommend to any audio enthusiast. A lot of bang for the buck. Strength:
Bass kicks butt. Much less distortion compared to other Polk speakers. Excellent for rock music. Bid dynamics.
Weakness:
Bass not not be well integrated with rest of frequency response ie. more of a home theater freq resp. Too bright with Sony. Not sweet for classical stuff. Excellent value for the money. The sound was much less distorted than other Polk speakers. These are big speakers, move a lot of air, and sound pretty big too. The sound was open (narrow speaker width?) but a little too bright with the Sony receiver and CDP. Bass was big, tight on the drums, but way too boomy in the little room they were set up in. Best for rock music. They are not sweet like B&W or relaxed like Mission. They are most like Paradigm but at a much lower cost. Similar Products Used: B&W, Mission, Paradigm |

The speakers ROCK. I had a pair of RT55''s in the past and was very satisfied. I listen to rock & roll >> heave metal. The bass is nothing short of tremendous. You simply can''t "not like" these speakers. I also had a pair of NHT VT2''s in the past and the Polk''s BLOW THEM AWAY! You will not be disappointed. |
