I have owned these speakers for 10 years. I haven't found anything better yet. They have been used just about every day. Love them. For those who seem to have a base problem I suggest you spend the bucks to get a cable that allows you to drive the base speakers independantly. With good cables you can clearly hear the difference. Also, as you adjust the distance between the speaker and the wall has a dramtic impact on the base. I can't use the the movie effects as it tends to shake the whole house and the neighbors. I bought these for $925 a pair at a high end specialty store before they were mass produced and it was a bargin. To find something comparable I would have to spend 4 or 5 times the amount. No, I do not have a sub wofer and do not need one.

Well I have had these speakers for 3 1/2 years and i am still very happy with them. I play them extremely loud (when the wife is not here)and they can take it. Just wanted to say that I was out helping a friend look for a nice home theater system and was even keeping my eye open for maybe a possible upgrade to my system. And after looking quite extensively I could not find anything that I liked better. I looked at speakers that were comparable like NHT, Energy, Klipsch, and Mirage just to name a few. The only weakness of this speaker is the subs in them are kind of weak.Just get a good sub and you will be very happy. By the way I got these at no extra cost when they were on sale and I traded up from the rt800i at CC (trade up deal that CC had then).I Will not be looking again until they break which could be a very, very long time!!!

I like these speakers a lot. They have the right amount of bass, treble, and midrange. They have powered subwoofers, which are very flexible. They suit my listening needs perfectly. I have no qualms with these speakers. They are fantastic. I have decided to upgrade the rest of my mismatched home theater system and get the whole Polk Audio line. I have been searching ebay for a center speaker and some surrounds. As soon as I get them, I will review those as well. But overall these are great sounding speakers and they blow anything else in it's price range out of the water.

I have been enjoying these speakers for about a year now. I replaced an old set of NHT speakers. I must say that I am impressed with overall quality and sound from these speakers. I am an avid believer of quality. These speakers are 100% quality. I think they sound great hooked up to my Parasound amp. When I play all types of music, these speakers rock. These speakers have a small footprint and look great. They sound like they are twice as big. Monster sound from a relatively medium sized speaker. I call that perfection.

Detail Clarity Sound Quality

I haven't been able to figure out any flaws yet.

These speakers sound phenomenal. Perfect marraige of bass, mids, and highs. Take my advise. Get these speakers if you can find them used, or get the rti100's. They are just the same. They are very detailed and likelike in their execution. I have not been disappointed yet.

I just want to say, that I did not purchase these speakers. I ended up getting the rti100's. I tested these rt1000's a couple of months back. I loved them. I just didn't have the money to buy them at the time. I know that the rti100's replaced these, so I wanted to put a post on both and let everyone know how satisfied I am with these speakers. they are great. I love to listen to music, and these speakers accomplish that task with much detail and clarity. These are better than any $1000-$2000 speaker out there.

WOW. These speakers sound great. I agree with most of these reviews when I say they are great sounding speakers for the price. I also think they are great looking speakers as well. I own another pair of Polk speakers as well in my other room. they are the polk SDA-2's. The SDA's are amazing speakers, but have a lack of bass. These rt1000's sound almost as good, but have more bass.

My system is composed by: Amplifier Yamaha DSP A5 Dvd Pioneer 444 I''ve bought these Speaker because I wanted a set of speaker powerful but definited... and they are so. The two (sub)woofer are impressive, also in my house, 7m x 6m x 2,8m, I don''t know exatly if they achieved 25hz, but they are impressive nonetheless. In my very personal opinion, they reproduce perfectly the sound, and are impressive for frequency response and for crystal clear reproducing music. I don''t believe to my ears, when I listen these.
