Strength:

Great Highs, great mids, and decent lows though an extra sub adds more punch

Weakness:

Bottom base is weak it broke with in two weeks just because I wanted to clean behind it so I had to move it which caused it to break, but Polk sent me a new one free of charge so no biggie. Other than that absoultly none.

This is the best speaker I have heard under $1000. The first time I heard these I said wow and had to buy them on the spot.I am a big Polk fan I love the sound of Polk. There have been some speakers I have heard that are either a great music speaker or a great home theater speaker. I find that when it comes to Polk there speakers do both aspects extremly well.

Strength:

Great Sounding, came with additional (external) subwoofer an not charge. Incredible sound, virtually perfect sound reproduction from source

Weakness:

None so far.

I listened to lower Polk models and other brands (BA, Infinity, Advent). The 1000i is the clear (read: CLEAR) winner in sound, base, looks.

Strength:

Could not find anything outstanding.

Weakness:

Same weaknesses as all Polk that I've heard. They
are inexpensive speakers that sound that way.

I feel sorry for the Polk fans. Save your money and
do without. Wait until you at least afford something that is worth your money. Polk and Bose. I just don't get it. Such a waste and pity.

Strength:

Clean clear sound. Reasonalble footprint. Theater and music come alive.

Weakness:

None

Thought about going with the RT2000i but this speaker sounded great and was hundreds less. I wanted to purchace a seperate subwoofer anyway so the money I saved I went with the PSW650 and what a match (also tested the PSW350 and PSW450 and they too sounded great with the RT1000's). I can't see owning this speaker without a seperate subwoofer, there clearly is not enough base for me. But with the addition of the extra subwoofer the sound came alive and very full. I have the subwoofer across the room and the seperation seems to fill the room very nicely. They are awesome for both music and theater. Highly recommend them.
