Strength:

Powerful for its size

Weakness:

None noticed thus far

Bought 2 pair of these (RT25i) for my mains and surrounds. Combined them with the CS245 and PSW350 for my HT setup. I'm really no audiophile, but I quickly noticed a difference between these and my old Pioneer speakers. Very crisp and clean sounding. They have no problem pumping out as much volume as I'm able to stand.

My setup (for now)
RT-25i (main)
RT-25i (surround)
CS245i (center)
PSW350 (sub)
old Pioneer receiver (VSX-9900s or something like that)
Tosh SD6200 (DVD)

Strength:

Excellent imaging. Great quality for the price ($125 each CC) Binding Posts!!

Weakness:

None really. Hard to find stands for them since they are heavy and large compared to satalites.

I have had excellent results using them as my mains in my home theater system. I would not recomend using these without a sub. In general I find Polk speakers to be great buys. I really like that the speakers have binding posts instead of those aweful spring clips. I have a huge pet peeve about wires slipping out, which is definietly not a problem with the RT25.

Strength:

Great Imaging, Decent Bass for their size.

Weakness:

No Deep bass, but what do you expect.

Great small bookshelf speakers. Decent bass for there size. No boom boom one note bass like most small speakers. What bass is there is clean. The mid and high end is great. They need to be on stands about 30" high.

Strength:

well made, REAL wood and beast soound from little speakers

Weakness:

THE BASS

Well I bought these a while ago and I have the new "i" version which are a lot better. I tested these on my cousin reciver which is a lot better than mines, I cranked it and the sound was tight and crisp. I will buy a sub which it needs and if you doo buy these, also think about a subwoofer, but I am thinking of putting two more of these or the rt35i for fronts and sub and that will be beast. these speakers are for people with low budget and little space, but don't underestimate these little speakers they will satify you. These are esspesially good for the rear which in the future they willl be on my system, then I will up grade speakers and compete with my cousins Infinity's, I hope I win, but these speaker are cool, and good for begginers

Strength:

Great quality sound and well built for the $buck$.

Weakness:

It was a mission to find brackets to mount them to the wall.

I had the Bose AMS15 set and wasn't happy with sound quality until I brought a whole set of Polkaudio which consist of fronts:RT25I, center:CS245I, rears: RT15I and the PSW450 subwoofer(Polk also). I'm a very happy camper. I know it's not "high end" stuff but it does the job, the sound these babies put out is filling up my 350 square feet living room.

Strength:

Solid Cabinet, Beefy Binding Posts, excellent mid-range, high-end frequency response for it's price range.

Weakness:

a little compressed sounding, but adding a sub with a high-pass filter helps.

This is my first "home-theater" system. I used to be an "audio-nut", but after a couple of divorces, I decided not to spend as much time and money on my love of home electronics.

The RT25i's currently occupy the surround channel of my home-theater system with a pair of RT35i's handling the front channel duties. I used to have the RT25i's in front, but decided to upgrade. Wow, what a difference! Everything the RT25i's did well the RT35i's did better, especially in terms of dynamics. However, the RT25i's when mated with a quality subwoofer (Polk PSW250/350/450 highly recommened) make a very nice "budget" sound system.

If you are looking for a main speaker I would spend the extra bucks for the 35i's but, you still can't go wrong with these and you could always move them to the surround channel like I did.

Overall they are a good value!

My System:

Onkyo TXDS575x
Onkyo DVS535
Panasonic Hi-Fi VCR (cheapy)
Polk RT35i (fronts)
Polk CS245i (center)
Polk RT25i (surround)
Polk PSW450 (subwoofer)

Similar Products Used:

Polk RT35i, Polk RM6600, lots of other "higher-end" speakers.
