So let me get this straight...one individual with a rather perfunctory opinion can take a speaker that had a top rating and with one vote put it onto the "worst" list? Something's not right here...
To a degree I have to agree with some of the statements posted, both good and bad. However, my experience with any ProAc speaker is that they really prefer tubes, and that most solid state equipment seems to dull and sense of vibrancy and life. I agree also that the 1SC seems to be a bit more of a revealing speaker, but that doesn't mean I rate the 2S with the same rating I would give anything our good friend Dr. Bose peddles.

Given the proper amplification (my choice would be Audio Research VT100 mkII), and of course an excellent source, I think that these speakers can be a gem.

EVERY THING ABOUT THIS SPEAKER SAYS WONDERFUL.THE MIDRANGE,HI'S ARE PROVERBLY THE BEST YOU WILL GET OUT OF A SPEAKER THIS SIZE.IF VOCALS ,JAZZ,AND GUITAR ARE YOUR THING YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE WITH THESE SPEAKERS.I FIND THE FUTHER IN TO THE ROOM YOU PLACE THESE SPEAKERS THE BETTER THEY SOUND.THEY SOUND GOOD WITH SOLID STATE.BUT THEY REALY OPEN UP WITH TUBES.THE SOUND STAGE HAS WIDTH,AND DEPTH.IF YOU AUDITION THEM WITH A CUT LIKE SARA K'S BRICK HOUSE THEY WILL BLOW YOU MIND.THE PERCUSSIONS ARE AMAZING.THE GROUP SOUNDS LIKE THEY ARE RIGHT THERE.YOU ARE THERE.OVER THE YEARS I HAVE OWNED THESE SPEAKERS THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT PLEASE.I HAVE EXPERIENCED ABSOLUTLY NO PORT PROBLEMS.
