Strength:
can out perform bigger and better speakers twice there size
Weakness:
if used by a junky stereo then they will not sound very good and won't sound very filling in the room these speakers fill the room so nicely and I think they sound better then speakers 10 times the price
Customer Service like i said before never had to deal with paul bartons company because if you blow them you are a stupid idiot with a junky receiver powering them Similar Products Used: also have psb image 1b witch sounds very darn close to 300s but has front bass port not rear one like 300s |

Strength:
good bass response for such a small speaker, warm sounding, very musical, works well in small rooms
Weakness:
bass rolloff, poor imaging, thin in the uppers one of the best buys in audio today. a very fine sounding speaker that undermines it's sticker price. To bad they don't make em anymore i would like to have em across the board in a 5.1 setup. i looked inside and was impressed to see how well they were internally braced. i love psb so much that i'm saving for the stratus golds. Similar Products Used: phase technology, kef, m&k, infinity, atlantic technology |

Strength:
Smooth and open midrange. Bass is extended. Very revealing sound yet not intrusive.
Weakness:
Treble a little unrestrained and thin but not forward or bright. I have owned this pair of speakers for 3 years now, along the way heard some well-reviewed speakers, yet this speaker still amazes me. The 300is are very easy to drive due mainly to its sensitivity of 91dB/w/m and impedence of 8 ohms. Similar Products Used: KEF Cresta2, Tannoy's M series, Tannoy R1, Aegis AE One. |

Bought these three weeks ago. Great midrange, terrific on vocals. Agree treble is slightly laid back but I think it's a pleasing effect. Bass is appropriate. The thing about this speaker is that it doesn't give you it's interpretation of the recording, doesn't impose itself on the music, which is why i got it. Great for straight-ahead jazz, Sinatra, pop stuff, soundtracks. It also efficient and plays loud well. Matched it with NAD 3020a, NAD 515, love it! |

I bought two pair of the PSB 300s for a friend that relies on me for audio advice, because they sounded great in the shop. More bass than the little Paradigm or Energy speakers, and didn't screech like the B&W 302's. Overall the best deal in audio for under $300(US) per pair. I had to hear them in my sytem before parting with them... and they rocked! Accurate and detailed without over-emphasized bass or treble. I listened to them for hours and hours going through my CD collection looking for something that sounded bad on these speakers, but didn't hear a bad track. Sure they don't knock you out of your seat with bass, but they're certainly musical. Which is high praise, and hard to find at this price point. Smooooooth! |

Got this pair upon recommendation of friend. Don't know much about audio, but this little pair of speakers surely caught my ears when compared to more expensive models and when compared to Paradigm speakers. Rich sound, and deeper bass than the Alphas. Got them for $260 a pair. |

The 300's are the best sounding bookshelf I have heard in any price range. They have a very full, clean sound to them. They sound great even at higher volume and can handle a surprising amount of bass for their size. The 300's offer a great deal of "bang for the buck" |

I bought the PSB300 3 years ago ... I hate it. They sound so thin with my Rotel RA930 (not enuff power???). I hooked them to a Denon receiver and they sounded quite acceptable .. only to pop music. However, I hate the midrange ... i simply hate the way it handle vocal, piano .. not much details at all! I still prefer my old Wharfedale. |

I owned the original psb 300's for six months. Being a college student, I had them in the dorms and they always seemed to amaze people on the quantity and quality of the sound that they put out. I had them match with an 80 watt/channel Onkyo and there was never a problem with a power shortage. In the dorms, the 300's couldn't quit produce the bass that was expected (that's why I had a subsonic 2 for that). When I was able to take them home for the summer and set them up properly, I was amazed at the bass response. Actually shacking the floor!!! The highs on the 300's were never a problem. Always clean and crisp. You should be warned that the impedance is about 5 ohms and that at least a good quality receiver should be considered. For a front speaker, they should probably be use with a sub, but I think that they would be perfect for surrounds. From what I have read, the 300i would sound the same except with better and cleaner bass response due to the better port. The 300i’s should definitely be considered for any one looking for speakers in the $300 range. I don’t think that you could find a better deal. |

I bought a pair a year ago ($300) and have been VERY pleased. Coupled with an NAD 312 integrated, these speakers were perfect for the small rooms I was living in as a student. When shopping, I listened/compared the 300i with B&W's 302, and with Paradigm's Titan (or whatever their 6" is called), all with NAD 312 integrated. |
