This speaker in my opinion is perfect. Especially, for the price. I was trying to emulate my local cinema when buying my home theater. The Silvers, C6 and Ambiant II's with a Subsonic 3i sound Just like this DTS theater if you have a six channel source. I have Dolby Digital. These speakers are absolutely uncolored. You can listen to them all day. PSB for President. |

I've owned PSB speakers of various sizes & types for years. The Stratus Silvers are problably the best of the line for overall sound & value. Sometimes the Silvers can be a little "hot" on the highs (metal tweeter) but in general, they are "the" speaker for under $2000 US. |

This is an excellent quality full range speaker. It is very well balanced with no major sonic drawbacks. On the other hand, no one attribute of this speaker really stood out during my home audition. Detail, soundstange, bass response etc. were all above average, but not outstanding. On the plus side, this speaker is very forgiving of the quality of electronics. It sounded good with everything from an A/V reciever to a $2,000 power amp. |

I purchased the Silvers and a C5 to go with some existing equipment. I listened to many speakers, and while some may have had characteristics that I liked more, none came close when it got down to price. I couldn't find anything that had the balance and clarity for what I paid ($1000US for the C5 and the Silvers, both in gloss black). I'd recommend them to anyone who listens to a wide variety of music. These speakers can handle the volume and the range. |

I recently spent a little over an hour auditioning the Silvers, with every thing from Violin Concertos, and Full orchestral works to German Gothic Techno. I have to say these speakers where very O U T S T A N D I N G! I didn't think they would handle the low stuff very well. However, they were very tight and had a good amount of air movement in the bass, I was very pleased. I think (actually I know)the Paradigm Studio 100s had more bass, better bass I'm not sure. The imaging was incredible (although the dealer was using a high end Wilson Audio Amp). Definately Worth a listen if you are in the under $2000 range. Maybe less if you can get them in Canada. I think the Canadians make EXCELLENT speakers for the price. |

Obviously "Tony C" who be from Nuw JWersey doesn't have ears on the side of his head like most folk. Must be a couple of cualiflower there or something. For their price they are excellent performers. They may not have as much bass as the paradigm 100's, but their imaging was much, much better. I like good bass (which the Silvers do have), but imaging and focus are more important. I am saving for the Goldi's. |

I have owned and listened to the psb Stratus Silvers for about three years now. Over that same period of time I have changed/upgraded every OTHER component in my audio sytem. That says something for the consistent enjoyment and staying power of these speakers. The speaker serves my broad range of listening tastes well; it is versatile and honest. I most recently bought--and now anxiously await shipment of--a Plinius SA-100 MK.II/Gen.3 power amp, and I can't wait to hear how the psb's sound with it. |

Absolutely fantastic speakers. I own these for about a month or so. The first thing that struck me was their superb extended bass. When I played Vangelis "ask the mountains" I could feel all my body being pierced by this gentle yet powerful bass. I could literally feel like all my damn room was moving, oh yeah! They need LOTS of space to breath. |

I've upgraded my system so many times it's obscene. Last summer I had taken a second job so that I could by myself a quality speaker package. Given that I am in college, I couldn't spend 5 figures on a speaker set. When I considered quality and price my choices finally narrowed down to the PSB Stratus Silver and the Paradigm Studio 100s. When first hearing the PSBs I thought I was in heaven. These speakers rocked! I was almost hesitant to go the other store to listen to the Paradigms, but I think the studio 100s were in every way a better sounding speaker for almost the same price. Would have gotten 5 stars from me, but the Paradigms bumped them at the last minute. |

Probably the best value in the under $2000 Canadian category. Excellent highs and deep bass. The speakers aren't the most effecient when it comes to power needs. If you think your lacking in midrange a combination of more power and cables will solve the problem. Give the speakers a good 200 wpc and they will come alive and burst free from all the small shortcummings you may think they have. They sound better in a bigger room, spread them apart and don't angle them toward the sweet spot. These speakers have the ability to overpower many other products, ie try and find a sub that can keep up with the highs and mids. I've been selling psb for 5 years and own the silvers personally, I never get tired of listening to them. Try a smooth set of interconnects or speaker cable if you highs are to harsh. I'm using tara labs rsc wires with a bryston 3b amp. |
