Strength:
I picked these up because a guys wife wanted them gone, so yea me. I was curious due to my ownership oh a few MC-616C. I have them setup 9 feet apart, using an older Yamaha 120 wpc. They have a really wonderful punchy sound being sealed. The low end was so-so but the imaging and soundstage are really great. Best dollar value I have ever seen. RBH makes one hell of a good speaker. The cabinets are like a rock. Just had a wild hair, so I broke out an old Hafler SE-100 preamp and a new Crown XLS-1500. I was snickering all afternoon. They exploded with incredible low end and man can they crank up to a very high volume. The poor 6.5 inch cones looked like they were launching out of the frame. They never bottomed out. You could not remain in the room at that level (Rush). I am normally not a fan of metal tweeters. I am sensitive in the upper registers over extended listening. This are bright, but very civil. I have no problems. Weakness:
My biggest problem is the tweeter is behind a metal surface, so swapping anything out is a chore. The other is the tweeter is a few mm smaller that their standard size. I was hoping to drop in reference tweeters. The stamped woofers are also a different size so upgrades to reference won’t work. Price Paid: 275
