Strength:
Lush... Read the review you lazy poop.
Weakness:
Power Hungry. Ugly. I thought I'd come back and top up my previous review after extensive listening. I'm finding it very difficult to replace these damned speakers... Having been looking to upgrade them for several months, it seems that I honestly cannot afford to. My system has radically changed since the last review and is now; Teac TRDS T1 Transport Musical Fidelity X-DAC Musical Fidelity X-PSU PJB-01 Passive Pre Musical Fidelity X10-D Crimson 620 Power Amp (For Twitters) Crimson 630 Monoblocks (For Woofters) Pro-Ject RPM4, RPM9 arm and Shure V15 III MR Musical Fidelity X-LP Ecosse Composer Interconnects CA Studio Reference Interconnects TNT FFRC Spaker Cable Big sod innit. Anyway, I've just added the second power amp and the speakers have filled out nicely... It seems that 100W monoblocks really aren't adequate. (That's 100W into 8 ohms. Most likely 130W into 6 Ohms.) Pushing 150W into these big ugly buggers has really improved their cohesiveness. They sound more natural and bigger than before. People who believe that over powering speakers is bad clearly do not trust their own listening abilities. If it starts clipping, TURN IT DOWN. If I could, I put a pair of Crimson 640 mono blocks into each speaker. 400W into speakers designed for 120? Nutter? No. These speakers just love their current. If you have these speakers and are not very impressed... It's your system. Spend money on a better source (your system is NOTHING without a good source) or bolt on some more power. Strength:
Bass, Midrange, Treble.
Weakness:
Ugly(ish). I bought these Bad-Bots second hand a criminall small amount of money. I thought I would get a tiny improvement over my Heavily Modified Tannoy M15s. Similar Products Used: None, Ever have come close... |

Strength:
Midrange, Treble and vocals, sheer clarity.
Weakness:
Bass (subject to music taste)and looks. Superb midrange and treble especially with vocal and orchestrated music. The clarity is fantastic, although 3D positioning is tricky, you have to be positioned precise to enjoy the speakers at their best. Similar Products Used: ESS L3a |

Strength:
Warmth with clasical music and rock, ability to drive deep, loud enough to satify dance fans
Weakness:
treble a touch smooth, ackward positioning I Bought these speakers because i couldn't belive the offer £499 speakers for £110 quid, there was i ready to shell out £100 quid for some floor standers. When the sales man over the phone offered me these. as with the other review my gamble paid off they are loud rated at 125 watts nominal. They easily beat the B&W 604s (Wheres the web site gone???) |

Strength:
Fantastic midrange and excellent bass depth with a sweet treble that isn't too bright. Creates a detailed and controlled atmosphere sufficient enough to fill a big room.
Weakness:
Takes time to position them in the right place...but the rewards are remarkable. System: Similar Products Used: Mission 774, 773e, 733, 702, Wharfedale Diamond 8.3, Tannoy R2, Yamaha NS200, Acoustic Energy Aegis 2. So far none of these can match the Rogers. |

Strength:
Build, midrange, cost
Weakness:
Bass weight, reliability I purchased these speakers from Hyperfi and had already heard them in the past. I was very dissapointed with the sound at first. The whole sound started to break-up when the amp was turned up (note - not 'loud', pounding sound levels - about 1/3 on a Yamaha 100W amp) Given time this improves although they can't handle bass at loud levels. A major factor for a dance fan like myself. |

Strength:
nice deep base- lovely loudspeaker - lush and very easy to listen to over long periods
Weakness:
tricky to position for the soundstage but when it's there they paint lovely pictures I took my amp in to Hyperfi to match a pair of speakers to them. Tried all the usual Mission and Tannoy suspects but none much better than my Royd A7's. Then I tried these. Instant response, then he told me I could have em for 140 quid from 500! I almost bit the guys hand off. Seems that we are all picking these bargain speakers up! |

I bought these speakers blind (in early June 1999) because they were going for £150 brand new, boxed and guaranteed and I was confident they would out-perform my Tannoy 632s. My gamble paid off. On the end of my Marantz CD63 KI-sig and PM66SE they sound big and detailed with a wide, deep sound stage with plenty of punchy, well extended, controlled bass (though probably not enough to satisfy dance fans). Imaging is good and the mid-band is excellent. Treble is a tad under stated but not enough to spoil things. Since the original price was £500 for these speakers I give them 4 stars but at £150 they deserve a hell of a lot more. |

Strength:
Large sound, deep bass excellent midrange
Weakness:
a touch syrupy with warm sources I too bought these blind for £150 brand new from HyperFi and it's some of the best money I've ever spent. The most impressive thing about these speakers is the vast soundstage. They are fussy about positioning and in my room I have a sweet spot right at my listening point, but if I move a little bit left or right then the sound smears and develops holes and dead spots, but get it right and the rewards are great.
