A good, powerful amplifier.I still prefer the sound quality of the Citation.I did an A/B and while the Citation was running I actually forgot I was running in 2 channel. This didn't happen with the 2200.I LIKE the 2200... Richmond Mobile Truck Repair Weakness:

There is really not much to say about this subwoofer, except that it's GREAT. For music use and/or for DVD with a Dolby Digital track. You have to hear Face Off on this thing to believe it ... amazing ! |

The PB100 comes from the little known Solid stable but claiming B&W design influence expertise. In fact everything about the PB100 from packaging to performance smacks of B&W and comparison of the specs of the latest B&W ASW offering, the ASW 500, shows they're identical. The PB100 is solidly made (no pun intended) and whilst sparse on features offers smooth, pleasant bass enhancement. Principle omissions are a signal dependent power supply (ie you have to switch it on or off or have it linked to an AC outlet on your amp). It also doesn't have a variable frequency cut-off filter. It has in line bypass filtering if you wish to drive effects speakers less bass output. |

PB 100 sub woofer makes my home cinema sound like real cinema. Can't say anymore.. Just buy it and watch the movie "GODZILLA". I believe it can tell you which sub woofer you should go for.. |

Strength:
Good for the size, very musical and smooth.
Weakness:
Do not get for home theater not enough output This is a good sub for music only!!!! Do not try to use this sub in home theater applications in a relativly large room it really loses something w/ dvd. Yet when playing an audio cd it has good extension and sound. I have my db set to -20 when listening to music and -5 when listening to dvd and it still isn't loud. I thought it was my decoder but I believe the lack of a croosover really hurts the potential of the sub. It plays low, not real well but adequate for dvd but the higher more explosion type / gunshot bass is just not there. It may have something to do with a low crossover point but since it is not adjustable I can't tell. The soultion I'm getting another 10 or 12 inch sub to play with the solid. The solid has a low pass output to hook up to another sub (thank god). With two subs in the house I believe it will be up to par. Overall good musically but be warned about home theater. |
