Strength:

Great (for EA/I)

Weakness:

none (but not on big Orchestra performance) EA/I

This is the review of original EA/I not EA/II.
I agree with the first Hans (though another Hans quite piss off about the rating and feeback from the original Han) because I like the EA/I more then the EA/II but it didn't mean the EA/II is nothing. Apparently, EA/II was modified (I don't want to use upgrade) from the EA/I due to market needs but as all audiophiles knew well it is very subjective especially when the the speaker has differnt connection with different class of signal picking up and amplier quality. The bass performance on EA/I was claimed a bit too slow and fat, and people are happy with the EA/II on such performance because it feels lighter and drives more in details. To my experience for using the EA/I over 3 years, my comments is it really depanded on in what type of amplifier that you are using as well as what type of interconnect cord that has been connected to. I have been trying to put EA/I with the Europen (such as Tabu) made amplifier, it sounds a bit slow and muddy. After changing to connect with the Japanese (like Denon) or American (Mark Levison)made amplier by using somekind of silver cable (such as Audio Note AN-V) of interconnect, you will definately listen the big difference of sound details. Like Hans said, best luck is the people who still owning the EA/I, because the Scanpeak tweeter is providing the very smooth silky high frequence. I am not going to trade it even now I have been buying more another pair/s of new speaker. It is not because I flat up with EA/I but just alternative enjoyment on listening to differnt type of music. Frankly say, I still like the performance of EA/I but I will not downgrad the EA/II, it somehow has it's fans to support it.

Now to the rating that I give to EA/I
