Strength:
Listened to all the computer speakers, was totally disapointed in in the sound quality of everything on the shelf. Found these hid in the back of the store near the automotive stuff (?) flipped them on and couldn't believe my ears, real music, full rich high's and mids with strong bass from the sub. The power specs are real too, not some figures out of somebodys imagination, 25 watts, but look at the heat sinks on the back of each speaker! Real power amplifiers, and they do rattle the windows throughout the house without distortion. Real wood enclosures, dual inputs and volume controls, treble and bass controls, crossover frequency control and boost on the sub, seperate power switches for sattelites and sub so you can turn off sub if wanted and a front headphone jack. What more could you ask for? Except for another set for rear channel sound.
Weakness:
Top speaker boxes do take up some real estate, but that is the heavy wood enclosure, real amplifier section and heat sinks, you gotta' take the hit on desktop space to get this kind of sound quality. I only wish they were still available in the US. Probably worth the $400 list price, at $90 I know NOTHING else compared to them. I would buy another couple sets if I could find them without hesitation. Similar Products Used: Many, Polk Audio and IBM's most recently and despite thier higher wattage ratings the sound is lost before it gets to your ears, Although the Polks are pretty satisfying having more presence then the IBM's in a "Soft" room. |

It is a decent pair of speakers for the price they were offered at. A little Big for Computer speakers, but still decent. |
