I have owned this all-in-one system for two years. It incorporates a prologic decoder, subwoofers and center channel speaker in two towers. The subwoofers do not extend to low frequencies, the surround speakers are harsh and the center tweeters do not allow for precise adjustment. For someone on a budget or a person who wants surround sound and don't really care too much about sound, these are the speakers for you. I will be wiser next time. |

THE WORST MISTAKE I EVER MADE! Luckily I can excuse myself saying that I was naive to this genre....but man, talk about crap! distortion, lack of power, and severe hissing give the Sony SAVA a 1 star rating! |

Strength:
Im reviewing the SAV-A3. First to offer pro-logic and surround sound in an all-in-one system. Good bass with bass booster. Adjustable tone on front and surround speakers. Good power.
Weakness:
Surround speakers are average. Good tower speaker system with Dolby prologic and surround sound modes. I am reviewing the SAV-A3 model. This speaker system is powered, it does not require a receiver. Just plug directly from your DVD, CD, VHS player, etc... Ample power with adjustable levels (-10 to +10) for Bass Booster and center/front and surround speakers. Surround sound mode allows choice of "matrix" or "simulated" sound and allows for delay from 15 millisecond to 30 millisecond for full surround effect. Great system for casual enthusiasts. |

none If you buy sony you expect the best, let me tell you that this is the best. Superb in design and flawless in performance. The SAv-a1 is all you need for home-theatre, I have enjoyed mine for some time and all my neighbors keep tellin me to turn it down. Its absolute bliss to own. Similar Products Used: Denon |
