The best mid range I have found in a speaker, and good bass. The voice from someone singing, the sound of a piano, and guitar sound as if they are right there in the room. The bass is smooth and not boxy sounding

The tweeters are not the best I've heard. They are kinda harsh, for my taste. I did replace them with some soft dome tweeters later down the road. Now I am happy with them all around.

Love these speakers, hook them up to a good amp/receiver and enjoy! I bought these before I had the money to dump on "the good stuff" and through the years I have not found any speaker that sounded so much better that I just "had to have it". Friends of mine that have spent a lot on a system have heard my system and say the same thing. I have put some money in my Receiver and Sub, but the Sonys I still havent found anything that is worth spending money on to replace. Maybe some Martin Logans
