Cheep but loud and pretty low deeps.

This speaker works pretty good.
and are good on handling all the power I feed to it.

NONE! so far . . . my old sony 215s i blew a mid on my left speaker after 3 weeks. Lets see how long these will last for.

2003 Sony SS-MB350H (Yellow woofer Cone, yellow mid Cone.) I have just bought these on Christmas Eve and I dont think i have ever heard any speaker sound better for the money. I have the old 215's which has an 8" but does not have the clear mids and the bass is alot more boomy (lacks bass). These 350's have really improved over the previous 215s if you are on a tight budget, then i HIGHLY reccommend them. for 120 watts, its worth the money. I listen to alot of metal and rock which doesnt require alot of bass. PS for all of you "audio know-it-all" wannabes, the bass on these are probably boomy because of the reciever you are running them through. DUH. The treble isnt high enough on some of them so it sounds bad and is uneven. dont go to bestbuy and pay 100 bucks, buy a classic kenwood or a old sony for 60 bucks, or buy a brand new one for at least 200. Im running mine through a 1983 Technics Reciever with a power gauge. The highs are superb and the bass is unbelievable. I gave a 5 out of 5 because they are sonys, and for 100 bucks, its a great deal my 215s were sonys and ive had those for 3 years.

Good high range response, good mid-bass sound, Great price.

Poor internal crossover, lack of true low-frequency response, mediocre housing, need speaker stands.

I purchased these speakers after listening to and scrutinizing multiple audio setups at my local best buy store. I was originally turned off by the lack of low frequency bass from an 8 inch woofer, which is the same size as my 100 watt Sony powered sub; however, in conjunction withe that sub these speakers perform very well. I purchased a pair of 30 inch bookshelf speaker stands to raise the speakers level with my T.V.. For home theater they perform flawlessy. With certain E.Q. settings the crossover fails and the midrange drivers distort horribly. This is easily corrected with minimal frequency tweaking. For the < 100 dollar price tag these speakers are more than competant, and are probably worth more than 150.

I bought these for Christmas two years ago and ever since then they have been a very important part of my sound system. I use them as mains in my home theatre, which contains the Kenwood VR-6050 Dolby Digital receiver (see my review for this awesome receiver!). The really good thing about them is their awesome sound. Now these are acoustic suspension and aren’t really strong on the bass but for stereo they are good. It is recommended that they be used with a subwoofer. The tweeter is the main attraction to these speakers with a frequency response up to 50kHz for awesome sound when using super audio or DVD-audio formats. The woofer is made of their H.O.P. material. H.O.P. means highly orientated polyolefine, which is 10 times stronger than regular polyolefine for a fast, and tight bass response. The midrange is also made of this same strong material for crystal clear highs and smooth sounds. Now the really only problem with these is that these are bookshelf speakers, even though they are quite large. This means that you may have to come up with an extra 100 bucks or so for a pair of stands. Because of this these may be out of some peoples price range. Now you don’t need stands but they would look funny sitting on your floor being that they are short, but with such an awesome tweeter you definitely want these at ear level for maximum audio pleasure. Read this with confidence. I own this product and know almost too much about home audio, meaning that I know what I’m talking about.

pretty powerfull for bookshelfs

large for book shelfs (they are floor standers in my apt soon to be put on some cd racks that will lift them 47 cm off the ground)

I have had a pair of these and a piar of the 100H's(Sonys smaller 2 way bookshelf) in my very small living room (12x22 but it is cluttered with a TV and a dining table and futon). I was using all four of these hooked up to a H/K 3370 stereo reciever. With all four on the sound seemed fuller (the 100's are a bit brighter while the 300's are deeper/darker/richer) but also very messy(to much reflections, sounds werent well defined). So I decided to move the 100's to the bed room and leave the 300's in the living room. With it this way I have had to turn the treble on the reciever all the way up other wise I miss a lot of the higher register sounds (higher guitar sounds and effects). But the 2 of them fill the room nicley and will keep me happy for a few years to come.

You can''t go wrong with these speakers. They have great sound quality and a great range. For bookshelf speakers you can''t go any better for the money. I have a friend with $1000 speakers and he was extremly impressed with these speakers

Im writing another review on these kick a$$ things....I bought 2 more which would give me 4 now...2 are my mains and 2 for surround hooked up to my STR-DE475....Ive broken these things in....I compared them to my uncles MF415''s or somethin like that...(the old sony high towers) after he heard the high volume levels with great clarity....he wanted to switch his with mine....funny thing is his were more expensive. I hope these speakers send a message to all the "bigger is better" kind of people....cause the truth is....most "big" speakers cant hang with these stubborn sonys!!!1 word of advice....if u plan on buying these speakers, be sure u have a sony reciever too...I hooked up my old 70''s pioneer and my 80''s kenwood and it turns the sound into punchy crap sound.

Oh my God, Could they sound any better? I don''t think so. The highs are so crisp it just makes me cry. I''m so happy about these speakers. Even through I am running them with a 12'''' sub and surrounds, they still control my hole room. They will definitly we attention grabbers here in my dorm room at MSU.

like i said before, the grilles suck

this is a follow up from my last post, these are sounding better each day, the midrange is filled in, the tweeters are not ear-piercing anymore, my sub is being tuned up right now, so i have the bass on my JVC all the way up, and wow i get alot of bass from these, i am still surprised, for the $90 that Best Buy charges, these are great speakers (i got them for $60 :)these sound great at any volume level

These are the best speakers I have ever owned, good for any audio use and have plenty of power. Has a great sounding midrange and tweeter that has more of a rich sound and not so ordinary. I have had these babys for about 5 to 6 months now and there sonys newest models. The sonys before these models MF-315 and so on had a paper midrange and a cheap tweeter, i can see why most people hate sony speakers, I think sony got alot of complaints and they re-did everything and came up with this great model, everything is mastered, from the design to the capacitors, its all tested and proven to be the best sound considering you have a good reciever. I just got done about 20 min ago making a custom binding post on the back...i took the original rounded piece off because winding posts give a better connection. Anyway, buy these speakers if u havent and you wont go wrong, i havent had 1 problem with them and i cant get them to distort, POWER POWER POWER, i cant stress it enough.
