Strength:
Stunning accuracy, Deep tight Bass. Ultra clear mids & highs. Unobtrusive to live with Weakness:
The surrounds harden. The surround go brittle. The surrounds crack. The surrounds split. The surrounds break up entirely. THE SURROUNDS ARE TOTAL RUBBISH AND NOT POSSIBLE TO RENEW The tweeter covers come off too easily. The tweeters are metal and get damaged very easily. Cost me £100 to replace just one!!! The tweeters are flimsy. The tweeters ARE TOTAL RUBBISH & not fit for family locations. Purchased: Used

They sound fantastic until the surrounds start to fail with age.

i ve bought this pre owned Tannoy Sensys DC2 From Frankfurt for 680 Eur. As i have got some time ago Tannoy Mercury Mx4, i knew this sounds fantastic. Well the problem was i didn't want to believe that you cannot hear SuperTweeter with placing ear nearby. At first i tried many positions of my ear, but no success i couldnt hear supertweeter. So what i did is that i placed towel on supertweeters and sit back to my chair and knew immediately that something is missing. i must say its funny that frequencies that you cannot hear can influence sound picture, but i saw that time that they really do. I use it for stereo only, when i listen to Getz Gilberto or any instrumental or rock and old rock music vocals are so real that i cannot compare this to B&W, Dali, Jamo, Bose, Infinity, Wharfedale or any brand i also have used. I must say bass depends on placing from wall, but is is detailed and not boomy i like it, midlle as i described are awesome, and treble also awesome.

I bought these DC2s a few years ago for $300 (AU) dollars, and have been reasonably happy with their performance. The paper bass cone has started to deteriorate recently which is a shame, because it's going to need a rather expensive replacements! The tweeter on top of the speaker is a bit of an issue two, one of the speakers rattled a little at reasonable volumes (it goes off at very loud which is strange)! I fixed the issue temporarily with some silicone gel. Despite the build issues the speakers do sound nice, though the lack of bass might mean you should think about getting a sub.

I heard these and knew I had found what I was looking for. For the money I have never heard anything close to these. Problem with that is that you can never go back to anything less..even shopping for the ultimate bookshelf at the moment is weighed against this standard. Im using an older 2 channel Marantz with them and I really couldnt be happier. I research EVERYTHING I buy prior to purchasing and all I could find were reviews that placed these up with similar equipment nearer to $4 and $5K. I bought the Birch, which is not my most favorite these days. I've thought about selling them to pick up something else...but I just cant seem to find anything that compares for anywhere near the money. |

Strength:
-Great airy effect that fills the room. -Straight and honest sound quallities -Supertweeter (If you can hear or feel it) -Lots of power handling
Weakness:
-Bass tube options Damped or not. -Most have great power amp, or you don't get the whole 100% enjoy. -Big transportboxes. Where do you leave them? About one year ago I've sold my old devices, and bought some Englisch stuff. First a Cambridge amplifier and then the Tannoy's DC2000. Great stuff! But once you're getting sucked into this world, there's no going back. The DC2000 were great speakers, but they're 13 years of age and they also have the techniek of that time. I wanted some upgrade to the standerds from now. So I was recommend this set up. At first, my feelings were very neutral to this speaker. But after the 24 hours of playing time, they give in the manual, the beast came out. Wow.... Breath taking. I hooked them up on a Cambridge C500 and two P500's. In this setup I bi-amping the speakers. It's really awsome. I live in a flat appartment and the neighbours aren't happy with me nowadays. The stereo image is far beyond from what I expected, they also say it's a widerange speaker. It fills the whole room with music wind. Dual Concetric system, gives that direct sound feeling and speaker response, in excellent balance with the bass and mid. On top the Supertweeter. It's going so high in frequencies, that we wouldn't be able to hear them, but it gives that ever growing space klimb to the sound that I could think I was flying. Straight and honnest. No side effects in sounds that aren't there, but some times be given sub effect. All sounds just the way it's should be. The last days I'm searching and listening to other interlinks and speaker cables. Power current must be tight as possible. I can hear they're very sensitive in that kind of manner. I think Interlinks with pure silver will make this a the real Pinnokio in sound, that you can bring to life. "I'm not going to leave the building anymore!" Similar Products Used: DC2000 Tannoy.
