Bought these to replace 20 year old CAW newton m80’s.
These wharfedales looks great in the rosewood finish.
These did need a few hours of break in, but I am really enjoying them. . I have a large living room and they are being powered by a Rotel RA-1060 (60 wpc) and matched like this, they are crisp and detailed in the high end. The bass is full and precise with no bloating.
If I were to find any area of weakness, I would like a touch more sweetness in the mids. My thoughts are that they would love to be fed by some quality tube watts. I bet they would really come alive that way.
These are on sale right now for about $700 for the pair. Well worth that price. They are very good and I recommend them highly. They are detailed, but not clinical. They are musical and fun and I am enjoying all kinds of music with these babies. I have listened to many different makes and models before buying these, but nothing was to my liking and anywhere near the price. Can’t beat the value.
