Strength:

Heavy as sh*t

Weakness:

Sound like diarrhea

I got these at Ubid for what I consider an exceptional price. But, they really stuck it to me on the shipping ($3916.00 ea.)

These are some bad ass Mo Fo's though, if you can score 'em for nearly what I paid, DO IT!

If not, I'll sell 'em to ya... Bring a truck, a REAL BIG truck!!

Well, I suppose one almost cannot give an unbiased review for these speakers... but in my limited experience, I haven't heard anything that sounds better. While living in Hong Kong I had noticed the WAMM Series VII listed in Audiophile show catalogs, but never had a chance to hear them, until we found a dealer that had a pair. The experience was a mind-bending one.
Perhaps the only negative thing I can think about these speakers is the relatively narrow placement they work in - the dealer had a single chair in the center of the room, and that is where it sounded best. You could stand behind them and it's sound about the same, but move anywhere else, and it was definitely different. However, if you can afford to buy these I don't think you're going to want to have a whole crowd sitting in your listening room...
this is somewhat surprising given that the speakers themselves stand at 6.5ft high and are, well, huge. The dealer only had Audio Research or something similar powering them, and it would have been nice if they could have hooked up some other amps/equipment.

Because it is so difficult to compare how these speakers rank in comparision to other high end ones (JBL's K2s come to mind), I think the best part about these speakers is the sheer joy one shares in just being able to listen to a pair.

Weakness:

How is it possible to charge so much for a loadspeaker.

C'mon guys what type of forum is this?Under every darn speaker over 50 gees i find idiots who have nothing better to do than rip of,and wright statmnts in rusta ,richboy or flippin who knows what.I agree that it is totaly obscene to charge this much for a speaker, for eg acoustic energy ae 1s or b and w cdm nts are more than enough on the level of perfection to me,so how can these be 20x more expensive??Well the answer simply is that the quest for the perfect speaker has long since been in progress, some substances like obscenly expensive resins have much the same charecteristics as heavly braced mdf,but cost easy ten times more, this is the only way to obtain the ultimate speaker, using these materials because they are the only materials now that are actually better than standard matrix and fiber board designs, but are not so to validate there cost. Also when gold is used in connections it isnt a conducter that is way over the top of others, definitly beter yes..,but the price paid is well,, the price of gold, very expensive.

I can say that people who intend charging 150 000 dollars,1.5 mill in my country)have yet to design a speaker that doesnt look like a bluddy robot or traffic light.
Any way Wilson technologies really do use the best available materials,no compromise,so we dont have a say in ridiculing the wamm becuase They only make like 3 a year, proof that this obviously is a quest to see how far the perfect loadspeaker takes us,they dont even really intend on selling the thing, its kind of like a history prototype,So people who actually waste money on things like this i surgest you find a applicable charity, and buy a pair of b and ws,acoustic energies or some other perfectly satissfieng make.COMPLETE JOKE FOR VALUE,BUT 4 STARS FOR ADVANCMENT IN TECHNOLOGY IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY POST THEN EMAIL ME ON DJMERCURY@ANANZI.CO.ZA

Strength:

They got to be a good six feet tall.

Weakness:

Not very durable. Need a large room - my den was overwhelmed.

I had these speakers on loan for about a month. I actually damaged one of the speakers during this period by a freak accident. I had the speakers set up in my living room and decided to put a golf net between the enomrmous structures. Well, everyting was fine until I shanked a nine iron clean through the top unit that housed the tweeter assembly. I attempted to glue the pieces together but it really didn't work. Also, when I glued the pieces back together, I had to glue the tweeter as well (it was shaterred). To add to my problems not only does right side no longer work, it smokes and makes loud, high pitched screaching noise like I have never heard before. So, I replaced the tweeter with one from my sons ghetto blaster. I fixed all the glue marks and frayed areas from the break. I took them back last Sunday just hoping they don't call me back - I haven't the credit room on my Visa.

4 stars for sound
1 star for durability

Well, after working hard one night selling my favorite product at the hottest spot in America, I decided to stop by my favorite corner liquor store. Lucky for me, My main man Sammie had these speakers he wanted to sell. Being the business man that I am, I offered Sammie the left over product I had. Jeeze, A nickle can get you a whole lot of music.

Strength:

Good bass, clean sound.

Weakness:

Must get a good deal.

This is in response to Bill's comment about Radio shack possibly over-charging. A friend of mine is a RS manager and got me a open box pair of these Wilsons at 10% above cost. My out the door price was $ 110. I realize a merchant can charge "what the market will bare" but going from $100 to $150,000 is too much. Maybe UBID will get some refurbs.

In responce to Emmanual down below. I play violin in an orchastra and I must say that the experience is wounderful......however they dont charge me any money at all to play. My suggestion is to spend some of your money on music lessons and donate the rest of your overflowing cash to a charity.
