Weakness:
Small woofers This is great. I have a very good Cinema DSP receiver with a lot of power and today buy this NS55 speakers system for 306 USD. Good power, good sound, only need a subwoofer for unique sound!! cm2gj@hotmail.com i have a Audigy card and i use optical / digital signal only in all audio steps. i´m using 6 channels 5.1 system. Strength:
Musical instrument like sound; balanced crossover; good sound spectrum
Weakness:
Lack of detailed performance (for instance a chart) in manual, though this is not a real weakness I bought these speakers in Sears I use them as stereo main spks for classical music. Very important to put the speakers on sturdy base! My stands are hardstone slabs (320x350mm, and 40mm thick)with spikes. The Yamahas produce superb sound on these stands however I never select "loudness" on my amp... Similar Products Used: Philips Hi-Q, Orion |

Strength:
Very Good Quality and Loud Sound! due to it's high 90 DB it does not require a high power from the amplifier, these speakers are best with mid-hi sounds, very clear and natural sound!.
Weakness:
Lack of Deep Bass compared to Technics SB-T200 I would recommend this set of speakers, they are very good quality, specially for Home theater use, but I would recommend a Subwoofer setup with these, if you put this conbination you will have movie sound that will ROCK! Similar Products Used: I used the SB-T200 and sounds more powerfull in deep bass but sound is not natural as comparing to this set of yamaha speakers. |

These are cheap and loud speakers. Good value for the money but far from what I'd expect. No deep bass, middle isn't very clear and highs seem to be for a background effect. 4-5 stars for the money, 2 for the sound quality. |

Strength:
Very good value. Good design for home theater. Loud!
Weakness:
No deep bass! I compared these to a pair of Klipch KLF-10's which go for $699 a pair, and heard no significant difference. I picked these up at my Navy exchange for $179, good deal! I got them home and they lacked the bass my technics had but luckly i had a Sub to match up great and all turned out well. They had more difinitive highs and mids but a sub is a must with these! I would recomment for the price since the higher priced speakers sound the same to me, at least the klipsch. Similar Products Used: Klipch, Technics |

Strength:
Loud sound with good bass, decent midd frec. and very good highs.
Weakness:
too much brightness This speakers have a lot of powerful sound, even though you feed them with low signal input. The bass sounds great( it depends on the electronics you would hook) and highs are accurate. The mids could go a little confused sometimes.I used the technics Sbt200 (I got 'em at the same time and could test them well) and the yamaha´s are quite superior than the sbt's. Anyway I must say that they are a little bright for my taste. For that price they do it well! Similar Products Used: SB T200 |
