Strength:

Great Highs and Midrange response, THey look awesome!

Weakness:

Lows...

I'm an employee at Best Buy and love these speakers. I would but the tweeter in these guys up against quite a few more expensive speakers. The mids are clean and crisp also. The lows are a bit with the 6.5-inch drives, but sound great when coupled with a good sub. My Onkyo 575X does a great job pushing these guys. I would highly recommended the Matching Center Channel offered by Yamaha for these speakers. They have the exact same tweeter built into and it blends extremely will in movies and music. I would recommend these speakers for someone wanting a serious home theater but not wanting to spend a grand for one speaker. The A100XT have now slipped to the rear speakers replaced by their big brothers the A200XT with the 8-inch drivers but same tweeter also. And yes I got the pair for $100, instead of retail $300.

Strength:

clear, warm sound and they look great, too

Weakness:

not the deepest bass, dont want to have to carry up 3 flights of stairs (they're not so light)

beautiful speaker with a sound to match. Give the aluminum drivers some power and enjoy a wonderful balance of bass, warm mids, and clear highs. The 6" aluminum drivers do their job well. They are fast and accurate for all your audio needs, from home theater to waking up the neighbors. But they do come up a little short in low bass extension. Match these towers up with a powered subwoofer and bask in the perfection that is your new stereo.

Strength:

Size, aluminum cones, clean natural sound, appearance, price.

Weakness:

Low frequency response

Well, I originally auditioned these speakers at best buy. Loved the sound. In some ways, I think they sound better than their larger brothers. The 200s seemed to have a little more "tinny" sound, altho they had a better low end. I liked them, but not better than my Overtures. Hah! I needed a new center channel for my Home Theater. I got on MySimon.com, punched in the model, and I think it was eTronics that sold them for $185/pair. Even with the $50 in shipping, it was still less than best buy's $300/pair pricetag.

After receiving them, I wired them in parallel, and attached them to my JVC 9010VBK's Center output. Damn! They sound fantastic. Dialog is clean and crisp, and the characters sound like they're in the room. I couldn't imagine a better center channel. And for the price, you're not gonna touch a nice infinity or polk center any way. Might as well have eight drivers. :-) Plus, they LOOK so nice on either side of the TV. Very elegant.

The only downfall is the low end. They don't have huge deep voices, but neither do their larger brothers. Yamaha has made a family of speakers that are more than adequate in their own right, but, they want to sell you a powered sub too. I don't know the model number, but, they have one that has dual 8-inch servo-controlled drivers, and it hits HARD. I'd be a perfect match, and it's not terribly expensive either. Possibly <$200.

Consider these as a replacement for your current center channel. You won't be sorry. They're cheaper than a JBL S-Center, and sound better to boot.

Strength:

Great Looks. Looks damn good next to the big screen.

Weakness:

Heavy as hell.

I find these speakers to very pleasing to the eye. They are a bit heavy, but the sound is decent. I am glad I bought these, and feel they sound as good as they can for the dollars spent. I would recommend these speakers, unless you are some diehard HTR freak!
