Let me begin by saying that I do not own this model however my cousin has this in his home.. These were the very first home theater speakers system I have ever heard and at the time I didn't know much about speakers.. Luckily these speakers were out of my price range at that time “LUCKILY”.. So I went ahead and did a little research on some speakers that cost a lot less.. I bought some KEF KHT-3005 speakers system.. Man I was shock to hear these speakers!.. But the person shocked the most was my cousin!.. I tried helping him improve his Bose, like making all the speakers ear level, moving the bass module a little off center nothing worked.. I found the solution, his living room is just too big for these tiny speakers.. so I told him to just leave it in his bedroom.. These speakers were designed for small rooms were the speakers are closer to you.. When it comes to speakers, “SIZES” matters if you want to hear all the details.. There is no-way those 3inch speakers can produce detailed sounds… my speakers sounded a whole lot better, more detailed and the bass is incredible!.. able to pick up very low base and able to really, really shake things up around the house!.. I was very disappointed with the Bose company after that.. all those advertisements how they make better speakers through research is bull sh***!.. If you really want good speakers just do a little research of your own and try and audition the speakers if you can before spending thousands of dollars..

Don't get me wrong Bose still make pretty good products, like there headphones.. but if they would just spend at least half of there money of advertisement on actual research and development they might come back..

Strength:

Awesome sound quality for music and movies. stylish compact design.

Weakness:

If you already have speaker wires run behind your walls, hook up is a bit more complicated becuase of Bose's proprietary connections.

This system replaced bose 301 front speakers, 201 rear speakers, bose VCS10 center channel and a Sony sub. Even though the speakers in my previous system were bigger, the sound was not. In fact, for movies, the acoustimass 10 blows it away. The center channel is powerful and clear. Voices sound so natural. Sounds come from everywhere and zip around the room at the same furious pace as the scene in the action movie. The best surprise to me is the strength of this system's bass module.

After reading some reviews that described the bass as somewhat weak, I was shock to hear how tremendous the bass actually was. The first movie I watched on the system was Iron Man. It truly felt like the ground was shaking during parts of the film. The bass was so deep and powerful. If people aren’t getting incredible bass out of this system, they have it hooked up wrong or they need to adjust their receiver.

Music sound excellent on this system as well. Lots of natural sounding bass, great mids and bright highs. The bottom line is I love this system. The size is just an added bonus. I would be happy with this sound from a much larger system. In fact, when I was shopping for a new system, I tested out much larger tower speakers with a large center channel and large rears and a sub the size of my ottoman. The Bose sound so much more natural than the big system.

I am truly happy with my choice and I can't wait to sit down and watch more action-filled movies to experience the incredible sound this system has to offer.
