Strength:

easy to setup, 3 cables to PC card are color coded

Home Theater - Great sound definitions and response

Music - Great sound range and powerful
Black and a touch of gold makes these a great low light system that most people don't expect the sound they can feel from them.

Weakness:

OK heres the lowdown.

The Speaker grills are in need of a redesign.
I have kids and I found they have knoked them over at times over the years. The Grill covers pins are split designed and when they impact "AKA drop, fall," they usally break off to the useless point to were you have to reorder new ones.

the other weak point is the old model/s had a redesign and added a preamp to the volume, bass, controll that fixed the problem of touching the volume and it goes to 80 or to 0 he heee..

Needless to say they will replace this for est 40.00 +S&H

New systems you DO NOT need to worry with this problem this was to the early vintage only.

I love the Klipsch ProMeadia's. They are a very strong system for the dollar. I find that since I read the 1st review from a PC Magazine I wanted a set. Well I finally bought a set long after my brother bought a set of the 2.1 "the early addition" and they rocked for having dual 5.15 subs.
Since these speakers they introduced the ProMedia 5.1's that sport everything plus the fact of having more of it. I have always used the Creative Sound cards with the Promedias and found them a excellnt combination, and the control over ALL the channels and the tweaking adjustments is a must.
I have Demostrated this speaker system many times over pushing them hard.

These are made to reflect Quote..." Louspeakers" Now understand these will have a different sound quality. These speakers are quality in the range of loudspeakers, and don't sport the glassy, bright sound that other companies build. these are great for all around use.

Customer Service

I had called one time on the grill that got broke and they did send me one 2 day FedX that was supper.

But sisnce the Father died I feel the company has lost this personal touch and now charges for all of it.

But company is USA based and they are dedicated to giving you a quality product.

Strength:

absolute best sounding pc speaker system available in its price range.

Weakness:

I dont like the (3)1/4" pin inputs that uses 2 channels per pin. I had a hard time determining which was which by trial and error. I have a soundblaster live 5.1 card and nothing corresponds. nothing is color coded. I would prefer 5 discrete rca's using the wires to adapt to the pin plugs on the PC. This way I could experiment with my reciever, boom box, tv, playstation or whatever. Ive heard they make the cables but they shouldnt be neccesary.

Extremely satisfied with the promedia 5.1. very clean, clear, and crisp high end. Suprisingly blends very well with the sub. I have listened to many sub/satellite setups and alway notice the lack of mid bass that always leaves a gap between the sub and the satelite. However the Klipsch promedia's 3.5 midrange driver can really move down into maybe 70-75 hz. there is still a gap but its trivial. Thanks to the Promedia 5.1 I now realize my mega money living room theater speakers now must go. They dont compete with the Promedias wonderful sounding tweeters. The Subwoofer in this system would be right at home in most living rooms. It uses 165 watts just for the sub to move two 8" drivers. Its fast, accurate, and musical but can boom like you wouldnt believe. I love to show it off since the sub is hidden away no one expects the punch. Everyones jaw drops when that bass first hits. I have barely played music on my main system since I got this. I also like having that large volume knob on the controller. The ONLY nitpick I can think of is the volume may occasionally jump if you stop between clicks on the knob.

Strength:

high highs, low lows, crystal-like clarity, and bass like a jackhammer in your eye socket. did i mention they are very loud?

Weakness:

crappy wiring. prepare to shell out $10 or $15 for some better cables.

i love these speakers. they are extremely clear; you can hear all the instruments in your music, you can follow different voices in harmonies with ease, and the bass is like a punch in the gut. the first thing i think when i hear a new song i like is, "i cant wait to hear this on my klipsches." games...the room sounds like the front lines of a war. i almost got kicked out of my apartment right after i got these because my neighbors - in every direction - disliked the wall shaking explosions and gunfire. i have heard of reliability issues with the klipsch 5.1s, but the only problems i have had with these speakers is that three of the five stock wires - from the amp to the sattelites - went out within five months of me using them. i have since replaced the wires with some thicker gauge stuff from target and have had no problems since (i can only imagine how good these would sound with monster cables or an equivalent). i have knocked the rear speakers off of two foot pedestals countless times and they havent even blinked. if you have the money - hell, rob someone if you dont - GET THESE; you will not be disappointed. in fact, you may come back here and right a review. the only reason im not giving these a value rating of five is because you wont find them under $330 and they dont make my ears bleed.
