Weakness:
bass response like most inwalls until properly powered I installed these when I built my new house. I sometimes cook and always wanted decent tunes in the kitchen. Had to install up high near ceiling in sofits. Wired with Monster cable like I did surrounds in den. They used to sound OK powered by B speaker selector on Sony 90 ES HT receiver. In January I upgraded HT receiver to Marantz SR18. Since SR18 has no remote B speakers, I had to get a Rotel 971 integrated to power remote speakers in kitchen and on Deck(BA Voyagers). Rotel made a HUGE difference in sound quality. Tighter deeper bass and a sizziling presentation. They even have decent detail at low sound levels. |

Strength:
Unobtrusive, easy to install, excellent for rear surrounds.
Weakness:
None These sound really good and were well worth the money. I was really nervous about cutting giant holes in my living room walls to install the in-walls, but as long as you have a stud finder it's not too bad. The sound is really great with much better bass response than the small cube surrounds that are popular now. They are also about the same price as some of the higher end little surround cubes. If you don't think that you can cut out the holes, then hire someone to pop them in for you--it's much better than having a bunch of speakers everywhere. Similar Products Used: Boston standmounts. |
