A single 1.0 tweeter is axially aligned with an 8.0 bass/midrange driver, dramatically broadening the soundstage of this in-ceiling Definitive Technology speaker. A wide range of technologies, including a Balanced Double Surround System, minimize resonance and enhance excursion. Definitive’s in-ceiling DI 8R speakers feature near-invisibility thanks to their small diameters, hidden flange design, and low profile micro-perf grilles. They are as easy to install as traditional flanged flush-mount speakers, and don’t require custom sheetrock/spackle skills to install yet they are practically invisible. The DI 8R grille is a mere 9-3/4 inches (24.8 centimeters) in diameter, noticeably smaller than competing 8-inch in-ceiling speaker.
