Strength:

Very attractive, well built, sound comparable to well regarded and reviewed floorstanders, ease of mounting - but primarily great sound.

Weakness:

Some may want a sub-woofer - this is inherent in all in-wall/on-wall speakers.

I was looking to purchase an in-wall 2-channel system and listened to speakers by B&W, Triad, Speakercraft, Dali and Momitor Audio. All were decent products. A friend had gone thru the same process and purchased a pair of James 63IW and had them installed. After hearing them for many hours, I purchased a pair of 63OW which were on-wall speakers - did not have to cut holes in a plaster wall.

Very well made - heavy and beautifully finished - 23" by 11" by 5". Can be mounted vertical or horizonal. Sound was good initially, but they really needed 100 plus hours of play to really bloom. These speakers replaced a pair of Monitor Audio Gold 20's which protruded to far out into our living room. The James can hold their own with the Monitors except in the lowest bass region - they have good tight bass but not at the same level. The mids and highs are every bit as good as the Monitors. I run these speakers with a 28 watt/side Sophia EL-34 tube intergrated and an Arcam FMJ 33 CD player.
