Strength:
Easy installation, paintable grill and frame, and a solid flush mount.
Weakness:
For an in wall unit, none. I refinished my kitchen and wanted to install speakers in there instead of a counter top/ under counter radio. I did not want surface mount (such as an Orb type speaker) or a setof ceiling mount speakers--however I was assured by the dealer that I could mount this speaker inwall and it would sound fine...and it does. Installation was easy; a cardboard template is included for cutout. Speaker wire hook-up is easy and the grill and speaker frame are paintable. I only had one spot for inwall installation and this speaker met my space requirements. It is mounted at my ear level (I'm 6' 3") and sounds good about five feet away when you are in front of the stove. However, when you are out on the deck 12' to 15' away, the speaker fills the whole kitchen with sound and the music sounds great when hanging out on the deck. The mounting clamps turn out when installing so just make sure that you leave enough space next to any joists to mount the unit. This is my first Niles Audio product, and for a single mono summing/dual voice coil speaker it performs well.
