Strength:
Tight response, excellent when paired with the MC300 satellite speakers from Cambridge Soundworks. Phase inverter auto power on features.
Weakness:
None. Upgraded from the Basscube 8 and boy what a difference. At first the 8 inch seems like it puts out more but I did not get it until I started to listen to more and more material. The Basscube 10 is much more tighter which helps to make a seamless transition with the MC300 satellites (Strongly Recommended). The bass is strong when it needs to be for example during movie playback but during music it performs very well and does not stand out at all from the smaller satellite speakers. Another plus is that I dont have to readjust the volume when switching from movies to music and if more Bass is desired the receiver easily can accomodate thru a simple bass boost. A very good performer and certainly more than enough for any mid priced AV set up. Similar Products Used: BOSE, JBL, Cambridge Soundworks. |

Strength:
Tight bass responce, done not sound boomy and distorted.
Weakness:
Sounds poor when used with speaker level inputs however, it was time to buy a new reciever anyways. This speaker has a very clean sound, and tight bass. Was a steal at $120 from the factory with a 2yr warranty. Sounds best when used with line level inputs. Have had no problem with popping or humming and is a great addition to my home theater system. |

Strength:
Remarkable good sound for the money - for a couple of weeks.
Weakness:
Cheaply assembled of cheap, substandard parts, actually making it a bad deal even for the cheap price. I am now throwing away my third Basscube10. If you do not want to toss $250 in the trash, buy ANYTHING else but this model. They sound GREAT for the first week or two. But they''re very cheaply made in China, and just fall apart. And CSW has a lousy take-back policy. The first two subwoofers began rattling within the first month I owned them (not subtly, but more like a ''59 Chevy going down a dirt road with a trunk full of sheet metal). CSW made me pay $100 to exchange the second defective unit for the third ... and whoopee, it never rattled! But, after 6 months, I tried to disconnect the speaker wires from it and, just barely pushing the plastic connections against their spring, two of the four of them broke. I picked up the broken-off piece, and it had a cross-section of 1/16 X 5/16 - no wonder it broke. They''re cheap junk. I am now at this site to choose a replacement, having wasted a total of $450 at CSW! Similar Products Used: 4 complete CSW amplified computer speaker systems - all excellent; as a rule of thumb, the CSW products under $150 are good for the money, but you get the same cheap quality with the $1500 systems, an |

Strength:
Adequate power, clean, 0 - 180 phase, input and simple low pass controls, auto-on. When I happened on this at Goodwell, the price sticker was missing, and I didn''t know if was operable or not. But, I thought $21 (Taxachusetts) was worth a shot, and, if it was broke, it would be a donation to a good cause. As its used, I probably don''t have to worry about it dying a month or two after its out of the box. And, I don''t have to spend 20 or 30 seconds looking at the manual. Since I''m using it with a fairly small set of speakers, power won''t be a problem, either. There is a pop when I turn off my system, but that''s from the source. As I use the auto-on feature, the BSC doesn''t power until some time later, silently. Fortunately, I don''t have any of the hum problems (yet) that others have mentioned, though I would have if I hadn''t put a DC-Block on the Broadband Cable that is tied to the system. Having everything off the same power outlet source and short cable runs also helps. But if you have unit that hums even with no input, you''d have to suspect there''s a problem with it. Fortunately, not the case here. And, for under $25... |

Strength:
70 watts RMS; 150 watts Peak; 0 & 180 degree phase reversal; long throw woofer to reach very low sounds; downward firing to equally distribute the bass throughout the room; 75Hz-140Hz variable crossover; capable of reaching below 30Hz; acoustic suspension enclosure for less muddy bass; auto on/off This sub is incredible! It could possibly be the most versatile sub Cambridge Soundworks has ever put on the market. It’s great for both movies and music! The smaller woofer and rigid structure enables tighter bass for music. The long throw woofer enables the sub to reach very low sounds such as explosions. However, If you purchase this sub, remember to use the speaker level inputs unless you own an extremely high quality cable such as Monster Cable. The speaker level inputs are about 2.5 times stronger than the line level inputs which enables higher volumes. Similar Products Used: CSW Bass Cube 12 and Mirage FRx-s8 |

Great for movies I really enjoy the BC10 for D/D encoded DVD's. Watched a whole gamet of action movies (T2, Days of Thunder, Mission Impossible, Fifth Element, and many more) the past week and I must admit the sub performed at an excellent level each and every time. Strength:
Great features The BC 10 is a fantastic subwoofer in its price category ($300-400). Will do a great job whether it be for music or movies. If properly set (crossover at 80 and subw level at 3), the cube will pump out accurate, booming bass all day long. Place in a corner of the room for best effects (reverberate off the walls). Once you start messing with the crossovers and levels, then distortion and "whacking" starts (like all subs). But if you follow the specified instructions in the manual, this is a terrific product. |
