Strength:
Clean, low bass
Weakness:
Bottums with heavy LFE content, large, must build box This sub plays deep, low and loud on music and sounds great. I really think you need to spend a lot more to get a commercial unit that sounds as good. I'm using the 150watt Parts Express amp to push it off a DD/DTS Sony receiver. On heavy LFE content the sub will bottum but with music there are no problems. I would recommend disabling any sort of bass boost in your pre-amp/amp. I built a 3 cubic foot sealed box out of 3/4" MDF, total cost (with amp) was $300. I'm pleased with the results but would skip the Titanic for HT applications, the Dayton 15" DVC works better for HT. |

Speaker is mounted in a 3.3 foot enclosure made of MDF as recommended. Placed in a rear corner of the room. Powered by a Peavey amp, 400W RMS. Crossover point about 80Hz.This speaker is wonderfully built. It simply amazes me. Yeah, the enclosure size is a bit large. But it Hits Hard! Highly recommended. |
