Strength:
Sound Hookup options Good overall size
Weakness:
Amp could be a little stronger Cabnit doesn't match the BP series Got this to finish off my home stereo, but really wanted the supercube reference.. being poor sucks. I was going to hold out, but saw this sub on ebay brand new and couldn't pass it up. The bass is tight and clean, alough living in a townhouse I cannot make the sub shine. Explosions and movie playback comes alive shaking the house. Some people have said that the LFE input cuts out after about 20-30 min of no signal, but my sub hasn't cut out once. I'm using an INOX cable. I just wish that Def Tech made the sub match the BP's instead of the Pro series. |

Strength:
Tremendous punch in a relatively small cabinet.
Weakness:
Aside from the initial replacement, none. I got off to a disappointing start with this sub - the first one developed a rattle/buzz within the first couple of weeks of use and had to be replaced - but I'm very happy with my purchase. The sub produces powerful, tight, accurate bass both with DVDs and with music. Well worth the money. Similar Products Used: N/A |

Strength:
Clarity, and strong deep bass w/o sacrificing quality of sound.
Weakness:
Controls in the back. But that's most subs I decided to complete my Home Theatre. My infinity sub blew. What else is new? Anyway, I auditioned some Paradigms, Polk's, Velodyne and Klipsch RSW's and the Def Techs blew these away. What's interesting is that I test out the 100Tl and THOSE blew away the 12's of the other models. They were priced at $449. For some strange, stupid reason, the 200TL's were on sale for $299. So of course I listened and purchased those. FYI, anyone near a 6th Ave. Electronics go out and get these now. It's fast and deep. That sounds a bit erotic. But honestly this sub more than fits the bill. Similar Products Used: Currently using B&W 603 S2 B&W Center AR Surrounds Sony 51" HDTV Yamaha Receiver HTR (can't remember now) |

Strength:
Impact, tight sound, value.
Weakness:
None. At first I had purchased the Pro-Sub 100TL, but when I opened it up it had a visual flaw. I went back to return it but they did not have any more. I asked the sales men how much it would cost to move up to the 200TL, and he said another $60. So I bought one. I have Definitive Technology BP2002TL front and rear so the sub matches their 12" subs. I bought the 200TL to serve as my C/L/R 2002 sub making my center channel a full range speaker. It sounds wonderful! And for only $440 you cant go wrong. Kickin'' bass for Vinyl & 5.1
Weakness:
Are you kidding? Turn it Up! This is my first sub & my first reveiw of anything online. I feel so strongly about this sub that I had to let everyone know, this is the sub to buy! I listened to alot of subs over the past couple months & there is nothing better for the money. This sub kicks. My vinyl records have never sounded better. CD''s do not have that beautiful warm bass that vinyl has. I have the Definitive Bi-Polar BP1.2X rears & the sound while watching DVD movies is incredible. I recomend this sub to anyone that doesn''t have $1400 for a Velodyne. I received a great price for this! Brand new out of the box! I also have the top of the line Nakamichi DR-10 Cass. Deck along with the NAD 533 Turntable. My tapes sound better than cd''s & with this sub, music in my house is such a pleasure. Similar Products Used: None but spent months listening & learning! |

Great performance for music & DVD's
Weakness:
None so far I was given the Polk 250 for Christmas and was unhappy with the performance. I auditioned the 350 and was still not satisfied. I then went to our local Def. Tech. dealer and tried the Pro 100. I was amazed. It simply has the punch I desire in both music and home theater. I talked the dealer down to $350. He went to bring out a new boxed one and was sold out, so he gave me the 200 at the same price! What a steal. I've been enjoying it ever since, and it continues to amaze me everyday. You simply cannot go wrong with this sub. Similar Products Used: Polk 250 & 350, Def. Pro 100 |

CLEAN AND POWERFUL TO BELOW 25 Hz. , GOOD WARRANTY
Weakness:
CHEAP POWER CORD I purchased a Prosub 200tl to play with a pair of B&W DM 303's in Feb. of 2001. I was replacing a pair of large speakers with 10 in. woofers that were capable of solid output down to 40 hz. At first I had brought home the 10 in. model as a trial, and tried my hardest to overdrive it in an attempt to reveal it's limitations. I was unsuccessful in doing so. Its protection circuit was doing its job and the whole time during my primitive test the sub sounded strong and free of distortion. Two days after bringing home the sub, I returned it and upgraded to the 200tl just for good measure. I have been using this sub for 10 months and still am amazed every time I watch a DVD that has heavy-duty sound effects. My evolving home theatre room is 18 X 24 X 7 ft. and the 200tl fills this space effortlessly. For music this sub sounds clean if the gain is set just right and for movies it will shake the walls. You can pay twice as much for other 12 in. subs, but compare the two side by side and then ask yourself if its worth it. For me the answer was no, but some people can't be happy unless they buy the most expensive that high-end has to offer. If you're reading this, then you're looking for a subwoofer priced within reason and this is a great sub at a great price. I have not had any problems with my 200tl. Unless you're used to hearing a $2000 sub, you will love this one. Similar Products Used: ProSub 100tl |

Big Bass
Weakness:
none at this price I got this one on sale at Magnolia HiFi. This thing is great, it hit's low notes the other subs fail to reach, also it not only produces good loud low bass it also plays music. A bass guitar or just a jazz bass have never sounded so good. Turn up the gain and it will blow your house down. I don't need any more in a sub. Similar Products Used: various 8" and 10" subs |

Strength:
low volume base
Weakness:
overdrive protection kicks in at to low of volume I have listened to the 10"& 15", one question I have is: does anyone know if the 12" modle's speaker surround is made of rubber or a "foam" material? Other than that deftech sub's are good for the money. I have been listening to deftechs for about a mounth and compairing them to validine's and I lean on the deftechs due to the power, sound, and small foot print. Similar Products Used: validine |
