Strength:
Looks good, easy plain simple manual, auto power off, customisable response so you can set it how you like it
Weakness:
not the most powerful out there, and not the fastest response, but you could do a hell of a lot worse I was after a sub on a budget, and this little unit met all my criteria of not being too big, looking stylish and sounding good. Its a 60 watt active sub, it can either be wired up to a subwoofer pre out, or if your amp doesnt have one you can pass the wires for your front speakers from the amp to the sub then onto the speakers. I have been spoiled by a pair of mordaunt short 906 speakers that are very good at producing bass, but i do know when my little sub kick in because there is a good rumble in the floor that wasnt their before. At the back it is simply laid out. a line in for the pre out, a volume dial, a crossover dial, speaker in/outs and a phase switch. The manual instad of scaring you off just says play with them untill it sounds right to you, which i like. By no means is this the biggest and baddest on the block, it lacks the response and power of the big boys but what do you expect for £100 and 60 watts. It is a good performer, it does provide that grumbly oomph you need, its happy to work with both pro logic and DD/DTS setups with little fuss. It automatically switches off when there is no bass signal present so wont eat your electricity |
