I'm very impressed with this sub! I decided to get this sub over the Velodyne CT100 and the newer Energy Exls-10 b/c the ES-10 is sealed, whereas the 2 others are ported. I tend to like sealed subs better. Also, my main speakers are Paradigm and I figured it would be nice to keep all my speakers Canadian (Paradigm and Energy are both made in Canada). I got the display model (which was just put out on display the day before) for $379., which includes a 3 year extended warranty. |

As mentioned in other reviews, I've held off a review until I had a chance to evalute this gear when driven by my Yamaha V995. I've had it for over a year and it was previously fed by a "pro-logic" receiver that didn't have a dedicated sup output. I thought that although it did the job, it wasn't a fiar assesment of it's ability. Now I can say it's an excellent piece of equipment. I find that it fills my room without being directional (or at least you can't tell where the sub is.) |

I recently purchased the Energy ES-10 Subwoofer to add to my home theater system. Previously I had a Bose Accoustimass module handling the bass, which I thought! was doing a good job. though I would go into stores and hear them playing the same movies I do and would wonder what was up.? I decided to splurge and buy a dedicated sub to handle the really low stuff. What I heard was amazing!! The tonal quality of the entire system changed. The highs stood out from the mids and the lows caressed the room. I put on DragonHeart and my jaw dropped at the difference. I could stand right next to the sub and still not be able to easily locate the direction of the sound. If you want true home theater sound, get a subwoofer like the Energy ES Series. |

I just got the ES-10 with the Energy Take-5 system. MAN! this sub is outstanding! This is my first real HT system, and I put in 'The Empire Strikes Back' and WOW! Clean, deep, smooth bass on music. I would recommend this sub to anyone interested in updating their existing HT system to include a true sub. |

Strength:
Wonderful deep solid bass, very tight, simple operation
Weakness:
not enough adjustability (low Pass Filter), can be too boomy I though this sub performed really well, then I hooked it up through my receiver (Sony SRDT-545, and yes it has the Hiss - still awaiting parts)to a cheapo hire DVD player, and the full effect was really felt. Similar Products Used: Energy 8, Polk PW250 |
